3-5 and 2 strikers?

Is it just me that thinks against lesser opponents we should play with two strikers and drop one of the midfielders? Dare I say it, like Juventus' formation?

I think we should only try that once Campagnaro is back, because cutting a midfielder would reduce the cover for the defense. I wouldn't mind seeing this against smaller teams at home:

Nagatomo - Kovacic - Cambiasso - Jonathan
Juan - Samuel - Campagnaro

Ideally though, I would be more comfortable with this formation when we have someone like Nainggolan in place of Kovacic.

So far this season, the backbone of our teams seems to be: Handanovic-Campagnaro-Cambiasso-Alvarez-Palacio

We could try to fit a few different formations around it, without disturbing the key roles of our backbone.

Not forgetting Guarin, but if Inter start with 2 strikers, it will be at his or Alvarez's expense. And I rather have Alvarez for the creativity...

But like I said, we are a top CM/DM short of playing this formation well (maybe Taider will grow into that role soon), and perhaps a LWB with good crossing ability.

That said, I am not as bothered as some with our 1 striker formation. Its working well, we have scored more goals than anyone else in Serie A so far... for now, its good enough.

I didn't see last midweek game, when Samuel played, but I did see the 35 minutes he played against Udinese, and to be honest, I see Samuel more as a back up, maybe until he gets his form back...

I might be wrong but I was scared in that 35th minute, when he missed the clearance and Muriel almost scored (well, he shot instead of passing it to Di Natale who surely would have scored)

Besides, we need to see what's going to happen in this market, after all, fresh money is coming to the arcs of the team, and we might get one or two reinforcements...

One of Thoir statements was that we only have 3 wingbacks at our disposal (he never included Wallace) he mentioned Jonathan, Nagatomo and Pereira... So maybe he will reinforce one of the two wings, making our lineup even more stronger...

I would like to see Palacio and Icardi both in the starting line up but we have been winning with this formation so far so I wouldn't switch over just yet. Our defense is still unstable so an extra midfielder is helping in our defensive duties. Plus most of our strikers are not available as we are always faced with strikers injuries.
