Earlier today the rumors were City, Bayern and Inter are interested in Hakimi. Before that, it was like nothing (related to Inter)? Then this came out like boom.

Guess this is how rumor market works. When they don't want anything out of a transfer / intent of a transfer, nothing gets out. If that's not the case, someone just leaks something to the reporter and so on.

Since it's said this was prepared since March.

Yeah, maybe. But last year the whole world knew we wanted Barella and Lukaku, so who really knows. Also I truly think we want Tonali too, and that also have been swirling around a lot.

Yeah and we most probably sign Tonali, but in that case it's in Cellino's interest to get it out Inter wants him, he wanted an auction. With Hakimi, it seems Marotta managed to agree with Real that this is handled in secrecy.

It actually wasn't that secret. There were reports back in March about this but people were more concerned with the virus and football not being played. Some of those reports also included other teams.

A month ago his agent specifically talked about Inter to reject that we had concluded a deal. But the usual suspects hadn't said anything about us making a move recently so I get why it seems like it's out of the blue. I thought that he was close to remaining with Dortmund on loan until I saw that they had concluded the Meunier deal.

Solid player at a very good age with experience in Europe and in two top leagues. It'll take a time to adjust in Italy but if we stick with a 3-5-2 he'll be just fine.

By the way, buying Hakimi and Tonali could significantly lower age of our starting eleven. Let's theoretically say we start a match with given squad:
Handanovic - Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni - Hakimi, Barella, Sensi, Tonali, Young - Lautaro, Lukaku
Yep, Brozo and Eriksen have stronger positions than Sensi or Tonali, but this squad looks really well and it's average age is just 25.45 if I'm correct. Replacing Young with Firpo, Emerson or whoever makes it even lower. Without Handa and Young it's just 23.4.

Nice backbone for years.

Okay, missed those early stories like completely. Other than the comment like last week (?) from the agent that there's no contact with Inter (obvious bullshit at that point).

Anyway, Hakimi is perfect for Conte's WB role. He has insane running power and that's what is the most important thing you need if you want to play WB for Conte. He's also not an idiot, instead he has good football IQ, can make those well-timed passes which transform to assists easily. Obviously defensively he's probably not up to par, at least not at the start. He indeed needs time to learn the Italian way of doing shit but once he gets it, oh boy.

This is a gem of a transfer.

He had 10 assists and 10 goals in 44 games. That’s impressive for a WB tbh. I’m little surprised at his price.
Im guessing if he was a Barca player, they’d ask 80 for sure.

Don't trust players from dortmund tbf. They remind of Atalanta, everyone player looks good playing for them.

Lewa looks good at Bayern as well..

Candreva has 4 goals and 8 assists in just 29 games, so it's similar average contribution :troll:

As a 42 years old Interista I remember that the ballers who transferred from Real Madrid to Inter that ''usually" succeeded under Inter jersey. Ivan Zamorano, Esteban Cambiasso, Walter Samuel, Luis Figo, Wesley Sneijder... My only disappoinment was Seedorf.

Solari was also fine.

Real (Samuel, Cambiasso, Figo, Sneijder, Zamorano) and Barca (Ronaldo, Eto'o, Suarez, Rafinha and indirectly Motta, Icardi) have been generally good for us, the odd Solari and Montoya notwithstanding.

Seedorf was quite good, though inconsistent but for some reason we expected him to be like Zidane.

Solari was also good but he had a serious problem of not being Mancini's bro and he saw freaking Cesar play over him. His only actual problem was staying fit.

Inter and Real Madrid are going to reach an agreement about the final fee, around €40M + add ons. Hakimi has decided he wants to join Inter. Totally confirmed.

Di Marzio: Hakimi-Inter tutto fatto. 40m plus 5m bonuses. Bayern and City were were willing to offer 60m to Real but the player wanted to join Inter. There's a chance he won't play in Dortmund's last game of the season.

Latest on Hakimi to Inter transfer: the deal is done, only the details left to finalize

The negotiations between Inter and Real Madrid for the transfer of Achraf Hakimi are down to the final details. There are a few economic figures to agree on to allow the deal to be completed. The fee is decided: €40m plus €5m bonus. There are still decisions to be made on what the bonus will be tied to, and an agreement between the clubs on the payment structure.

There was fierce competition between Inter, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, who were prepared to offer €60m to Real Madrid and significantly higher wages than the €5m after tax wages he will earn at Inter. But Hakimi considered Inter to be the right project to sign on to both in terms of club ambitions and personal growth. His commitment to Inter was sealed nearly a month and a half ago.

There will be a decisive call bewteen the clubs on Saturday to discuss these final details. Hakimi is set on his part to join with the rest of the Inter squad, and he may be left out of the last match of Borussia Dortmund's season against Hoffenheim given that they have already secured second place in the league, instead ending his season early and preparing for his future in Serie A with Inter.

Real Madrid received offers of €60m from Bayern Munich and Manchester City and were ready to offer him higher wages but the 21-year-old preferred Inter's project for his personal growth and the club's ambitions.
