Suning were already our owners, when we wanted Modrić

I know but we were still under the settlement agreement. Since the exit they have spent big and hopefully things will only get better from now on.

To be fair, while both are great transfers, Arthur definitely is the biggest move here.

Hakimi is the biggest move given the circumstances here and in terms of boosting the teams competitiveness.

Arthur is replacing Pjanic, a proven world class player (and cunt) yet we don't know how he will fit in at juve and if he will have the same effect as Pjanic who has been their main midfielder for years. Don't get me wrong, I think Arthur is a great player, but compare that transfer and the fees paid for him, with Hakimi who we just got for an amazing price as he is one of the best and promising wingbacks, fits perfectly into the 3 man defence formation and is a massive replacement over all our fullbacks put together x100. I'm not saying he's going to hit the ground running either, but we definitely made the better deal.

Arthur is a party monster just like Nainggolan, he will forget his training time and will flop eventually.

Still kind of speechless that we were able to acquire Hakimi. Conte factor, Marotta factor. Whatever it is, we mean business moving forward! Welcome and please kick ass!

Ausilio factor.

With him, we will have one of the top 10 teams if we look by the individuals who plays for us. I just cant believe 5 years ago our biggest signing was hernanes besides getting likes of kuzmanovic, gargano, pereira and such. And now we got hakimi who is one of the best if not the best RWB in the world, eriksen who was/is the best #10 in the world, lautaro who has so much talent and is wanted by Barcelona really bad, lukaku who is the best Belgium goal scorer ever, skriniar and de vrij atleast top 7 duo On CB, brozović one of the best B2B midfielders, young stars or soon to be stars in Bastoni and Barella, also Handanovic who was/is best GK in Italy and top 10 in the world (most underrated for sure). Also dont forget we got Conte, one of the best Coaches in the world (its not his fault Gags missed an open goal from 3m). Just look how far we came.... just results are missing now. THANK YOU SUNING and thank you Mister Marotta! Hakimi all the best in Inter !

Suning factor as well. We now have the money to make these deals happen. We're not the beggars who want to take Modric for free anymore.

Of course, I mentioned this earlier. I also gave Spalletti his due credit for returning Inter to its rightful place. Conte and Marotta were brought to sustain Inter at the level Suning's decisions brought it at, they are not the reason for anything. Yet. We'll see if they are. Marotta is probably sticking around for longer than Conte so he probably will end up with some success, he has been put in a great position to succeed after that crazy Empoli win last season. With Conte I'm not so sure. And the only player we could say that we've signed due to Conte was Lukaku and he didn't come at a discount and he had already accepted a move to Juventus before completing the deal with us, so it's not like it's "Conte or no one else" for him. For some bizarre and unwarranted reason people think that Conte attracts players to us.

But signing the best available players is something that Inter has historically done, it's not something that Suning brought to us. We're not new to this despite several people here have no idea of what Inter's stature in world football really is because they weren't around or are unaware of the club's story.

Saying that, it's too early to say that Hakimi is one of the best of anything. He's had a solid season with Dortmund and he has potential, but it's not like we're signing 2009 Maicon or 1998 Cafu.

Yeah but it might be 2006 Maicon.

edit. And of course, 2006 Maicon cost like 6-7m€. But it's different these days when it's harder and harder to spot talents for cheap. Of course Hakimi isn't a player one needs to specifically spot anymore. But anyway, potential for new Maicon is definitely there.

I don't think so honestly. Signing one of the best right wing backs around beating the likes of City and Bayern to the race is for me way more impressive than signing Arthur just because it's FFP era.

Arthur is a starting player for Barcelona. It may not be the Barcelona of 2004 to 2015, but it's still a top 5 team in the world. Dortmund on the other hand is on a similar status to Inter and Real Madrid didn't feel the need to keep him over Carvajal who isn't anything great, just a solid 7/10 option.

We did a good deal here but I feel people are overrating Hakimi just because of 120 minutes against Inter they saw him in, which was mostly due to Inter's tactical blunder in that 2nd half that any greatness provided by Dortmund.

Not so sure if Bayern or City were very serious about him, I think only Man Utd was really serious even though they have this Obi Wan Moussaka guy that they rate so highly and PSG was also going to make a move in July, but too late for them. Either way, he's a kid with potential, not a legit top player. Arthur on the other hand has been a very important player for Barcelona. Dortmund and Barcelona are not on the same level. This is sort of the equivalent of Real Madrid signing Lautaro for example and saying that they beat Barcelona and other great clubs to him, but then Barcelona goes to buy Mane or De Bruyne. Who would you call the 'colpo di mercato' here? Of course both would be, but #1 would be the guy proven at a greater stage, playing for a club that has had better success.

No need to play down Juventus' capture of Arthur, it's an amazing buy for them. Just like Hakimi is a great buy for us.

If you want to overhype some Inter transfers, those should be Eriksen, De Vrij and Lautaro imo. Hakimi on the other hand is more of a statement than a 'big transfer'. Signing a player from Real Madrid that was highly rated for a couple of seasons, having good seasons with Dortmund (which should be treated as the equivalent of Atalanta & Porto when it comes to signing players from them) and at a very good age. But let's not start expecting from this guy to our Dani Alves, otherwise people will think he's Alvaro Pereira.

I was referring to the era after the treble where we didn't have the financial power of the past. Inter obviously didn't start bringing good players with Suning. Many of us became Inter fans thanks to the players Moratti brought to Inter so historically it's nothing new.

Is Marca biased in some form? Like anti-Madrid or on the contrary, supporting Madrid? They seem quite vehement on this topic

Marca writes, “Real Madrid have embarked on a journey to sign more and more young players. The world of football is increasingly difficult to understand. In some cases, that policy is fine and in others it is not. But the one thing that we have no explanation for is to have a player who grew up in your youth sector and is now a star player and then sell him. This is the case of Achraf.

Marca continues, “Achraf Hakimi arrived at Real Madrid at just eight or nine years old. He crawled and scratched all the way up to the first team. But in his first year there was little room for him to play and so he went out on loan at Borussia Dortmund where he emerged as one of the best full-backs in European football. He has speed and knows how to score (9 goals and 10 assists this season). It is incomprehensible that Real Madrid can let go of a 21-year-old who had spectacular performances in the Bundesliga. Unless there is something else that we do not know, we do not understand their position. Maybe they will spend €50M to buy someone who is worse than Hakimi. There are strange things in football and this is one of Real Madrid. We will see if this is a serious mistake. We do think so. Time will tell.”

Marca is pro Madrid, mostly Real Madrid. And owned by Urbano Cairo, who also owns Gazzetta dello Sport. And Torino FC.

Bunch a bulshit over Artur thing, what exactly he has done in 2-3 years to be worth more from double before arrival? Had one solid season and got benched for fucking Rakitic and Vidal. Solid player, nothing more. He wouldn't reach 40 million tag if weren't exchange with Pjanic.

They do Madrid's bidding. They put a BS article up the day the Hakimi rumours became too intense to ignore, trying to cool things down while in hindsight it was obvious the deal was done and they ate shit.

Marca are certainly pro Real and they're even worse than MD and Sport. Everyone was reporting the deal was done in Italy and Marca claimed there was no offer to Real for Hakimi. The only ones who had "dared" to report it till yesterday were the Aguirre guy, AS and Onda Cero.

Marca reporter(s) do not understand or not care to write about financial stuff regarding running football clubs. Hakimi wouldn't have been first choice player and as youth product the whole sale price is plusvalenza. And the player wanted first team football. And they needed money. That's why he was sold.

I think they're just hacks who are more interested in preserving Real Madrid's institutional stature or whatever the fuck. It's why some of their fans just refused to accept there was no buy back clause in the deal
