Was never impressed with Kovacic. And we sold him for huge sum, i was wondering why Real Madrid wanted to buy such a mediocre player.

Kovacic was worse for me partially cuz I loved his style of play, but in part because shithead Mancini sold him because he wanted KDog. Inter were forced to sell iirc, it's not like Mancini wanted him out, but the choice who was it going to be was made by Mancini, I believe.

Selling Hakimi feels less like a human error and more like a natural disaster, i.e. still tragic but less preventable.

Kovacic was always potential. I havent seen much of him at Chelsea, to be clear, but he always could have been such an amazing player. He just lacked the vision - he did all these amazing passes, but they were kinda Pro Evo style of where he thought players would be. That's not vision. Vision is passing to where your players WILL be, not SHOULD.

For his play style, he should have far more assists than he does.


I like Strale's analogy though, I'd agree with that re natural disaster

Because he was still young and touted as a potential replacement for Modric.

RM generally like to replace older players but during these last few years its been different because playrers are having longer careers.

Also Kovacic has good games with Chelsea, he is benched by a trash overrated player.

Kovacic was also a unique player of his position just like Hakimi(prolific fullback), I can't remember another cmf with such a blistering speed dribbling from deep to front and an immacule passing with vision. And he was 19. This type of skill set was revolutionary, it could've redefined the cmf/dlp role.
