Tbh I tend to go with the believe side. False accusations are insanely rare, and accusing someone high profile would be potentially easy to discredit if made up. They've almost definitely had an encounter of some sort, it's just whether it was in passing, he cheated or he did what she claims

It'd be insane to accuse someone without any proof of contact anyway.

Gonna play a little defense attorney POV before any of you slam me for being a misogynistic asshole. I’m just going to state what is POSSIBLE not what I think happened.

The 99% accuracy number is discussed more so for the general population where the accuser has little to nothing to gain from a civil suit. That number goes down astronomically when the accused is someone of significant financial/social stature. Exploitation is VERY real in these matters and will be exactly what his lawyers will be quick to pinpoint in this case.

I have seen cases where the accuser plans out a scenario to deny sexual relations at first in hopes the accused just forces it anyways. Essentially the accuser wants sex but plays it off like they don’t in order to play out a scenario of “rape”. The case I have seen this play out in the accuser texted a friend group the plan prior to anything happening.

The other option is of course that they simply had consensual sex and the accuser is saying they didn’t in hopes of just getting hush money. This is public so I’m willingly to bet odds are he has denied a private settlement already

The last option is he genuinely is a scumbag and deserves the shit he’s getting. Which of course hurts because his public persona is the exact opposite.

I can say one thing confidently, and that’s if Mendy and Greenwood got off pretty much clean, given the details in this case so far, nothing is going to happen outside of him getting a negative blast of PR and a potential civil suit settlement. With how fresh this is I’ll be awaiting more details before I make any judgement.

Again, I’m simply laying out my personal opinion on things I’ve seen happen, not what I have predicted did happen.

Like, did it happen? Well most probably but because of this type of technicality, lawsuit was dismissed. Lawyer did wrong things to obtain material to prove it happened so there's no case but did the actual rape happened? Well, we can be pretty sure it happened.

I’m only speaking anecdotally, but from my experience false accusations are all too common.

I’ve had friends who have been raped, one even pressed charges and the scumbag was let off.

Having said that, I’ve personally encountered sociopaths who weaponise rape allegations. There’s a lot of crazy bitches out there who won’t think twice about making false rape allegations, just as there’s a lot of men who’ll commit rape if they think they can get away with it.
