Adriano reveals Real desire

Adriano has back-tracked on recent comments by claiming he does hope to play for Real Madrid in the future.
The Internazionale star announced that he dreams of joining Real and is flattered by the interest that Florentino Perez is showing in him.
The Brazilian striker is being touted as the next Galactico to sign for the Spanish giants and he is expected to meet the Madrid president in Paris in April.

"I am very happy that Florentino has said good things about me," Adriano declared on Spanish television station Canal Plus.
"We will have to see what happens in the future, but I hope to fulfil my dream and that of Florentino's.
"He likes my style a lot and watches the games I play in and wants me to be a part of his club.
"But it is very difficult to leave Inter now because I am an important player here, but in the future I hope to play for Real Madrid.
"I want to enjoy my football. I came to Italy when I was very young to learn more and then to be able to go to Spain."
Adriano then revealed his special relationship with Madrid's director of football Arrigo Sacchi, who was coach at Parma when the striker was there.
"Sacchi helped me a lot," he explained. "I was very young when I went to Parma and he was like a second father to me.
"He also said that he turned down a move to Barcelona when he left Parma.
"It is true that I could have gone to Barcelona," Adriano continued.
"I spoke with Sandro Rossell, but in the end I preferred to join Inter."

So much for his loyiality.... :frustrat: He wont to join Real soon or later so we can forget all abouth a Adriano, Martins life time partnership. It would even be a surprice if he is here the next 3 seasons.

To make it short - as I have said it 100 times before:
Champions/big players want trophies, and rightly so! If a club such as ours can not fulfill their desire then they WILL leave! simple as that....
I give him this season and next, if we dont win anything (CI excl.) he will go! Just like the fat boy did!

p.s Im sure there is a Adriano thread somewhere in this forum!!

Crespo, Figo, I
well, unless we saw him on TV directly saying this...
then we should ignore this rumor..
it's not fair on adriano..

the spanish media is just trying to make real madrid as the galactico.. as in my eyes, they're just another football club...

It seems our players have taken something to make them completely idiotic. There are people on another forum that has seen this interview and could confirm that he spoke about wanting to play for Real Madrid. This is a huge blow from a personal point of view.

First Materazzi and now Adriano. They have both screwed up big time now, and have turned the fans against them. Smaaaaaart!

Like i said, inter is being run so bad with all these players we got, and all these changes, we need Mourinho.

Inter block Adriano exit Wednesday 26 January, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inter President Giacinto Facchetti has warned Real Madrid to give up in their chase to sign Adriano.

The Brazilian is known to be a target for the European giants and speculation over a move increased yesterday after the player admitted he would like to star for Real.

But the legendary Facchetti maintains that the 22-year-old striker won’t be leaving the San Siro.

"Adriano is an Inter player and he’s not moving," said the former Italian international. "That’s final.

"He said what he did in that interview because he just wanted to be polite after the praise he’s received from Spain."

Facchetti continued: "Adriano has always said that he wants to stay but you never know what will happen at the end of his career. In 10 years time he could decide to change clubs."

The San Siro chief then revealed that Real would face some stiff competition for the player if he was ever made available for transfer.

"It may be Florentino Perez’s dream to have Adriano but there are a host of great clubs interested," he added.

"Have we received a Real bid? Perez made an enquiry two months ago but I thought he was joking."

Meanwhile, boss Roberto Mancini is also confident that he will continue to have the South American at his disposal.

"I don’t think he wants to leave this club," said the tactician. "He will stay here for some time to come."

Generally speaking if a player one day decides to leave, and no longer has his heart/mind in the right place then he better leave!
Hence the BS talk from our president doesnt make much sense, yet I believe he had to say those words. No one can and neither SHOULD stop a player who wants to leave!

Yep but thats not the case hear he said in the FUTURE. and NOT NOW.

But still it was incredible dumb to say those thing he said. And he should now that those thing only make the fans of the club angry at him. He could ask Vieri abouth it and he could confirm it.

And abouth Matrix i really don't care abouth him, in my oppenion he should be sold especialy after the thing he said. A player like him shoulden complaine when benched, cause he dosen't have the calibre to start on the pitch.

If Adriano betrays us like Ronaldo did, I simply can't think of what will be our reaction. We would probably hate him more than we hate Ronaldo. What do you guys think?

well, its useless to discuss this matter as nothing has really changed. However just to answer you question I would say NO! Mainly because Adriano (touch wood) has been playing frequently for us! Meaning he is giving us value for the moeny we are paying him.
"Fat boy" only played one full season, whereas the remaining of his time he was injured while getting all those paychecks! :fero:

If worse comes to worst, we have Martins, Recoba, Vieri, Elikakuw for the near future, to name few. Nobody is indispensable at the current inter squad, and I mean no one.

Means nothing really. He should have been more aggressive, we are a soft team that big team can bully as around.

Let's just hope that Adriano was being too polite in the interview. I mean, I could have said that myself just as to be as polite as possible. Perhaps he was in a very good mood and was trying to be as diplomatic as possible.

(I opened a topic in the T&R forum but I closed it since this topic has generated more reply while mine has none)

I guess it's worth the while to make a topic dedicated to the rumours about Adriano joining Lost Galacticos since it is obvious that the tabloids will never give this up. Expect rumours to spark even higher come Valentine's Day when Adriano, and probably Vieri, will be invited to Ronaldo's wedding in Madrid.

I once posted that Adriano's chances to move to Real Madrid is very low but that post has since been lost. I still believe though that the move is unlikely to happen. I will briefly say out why.
  • 1) First of all, I think Ronaldo's biggest reason to move to Real Madrid is his brother-cum-agent. I believe Ronaldo's brother is just a greedy b@stard and was just looking for the comission he'd get if he successfully convince his brother-cum-client to move to Madrid. Ronaldo obviously believe his words.

    2) Adriano is not stupid and he knows he will be competing with Ronaldo, Owen and Raul for just 2 spots as Real's strikers. It would take an act of God to replace Raul (Just as shown in Madrid - Mallorca), Adriano believes Ronaldo is a very good player and Michael Owen has one of the best league-goal-to-minute ratio in Europe at the moment. Why would a rising star get in to such a risk?

    3) Real Madrid's spending power is the only thing that can challanged David Beckham's overratedness. Real has spent hundreds of millions buying all those players and we all know it's not cheap to keep expensive toys. I think the revenue generated from the sales of their training ground several years ago has dried up buy now and I don't think they will be spending big anytime soon.
If the move happened though, I think Perez and Moratti are a match made in heaven because there are nobody that comes close when it comes to their lack of IQ. Perez doesn't need any striker and Moratti would then be selling 2 of the world's biggest talent to Real Madrid in 3 years.

To be honest, I'm quite worried about the interview Adriano gave to Canal Plus Spanish and I truly hope that he was drunk or something. If he ever move to Real Madrid, I can only accept it if Adriano has tried his best to win something with Inter first. That means, I will never accept it if he moves in this winter, summer or the next summer. Adriano should definitely stay with Inter for 2-3 more years in respect of the fact that Inter brought him from obscurity to the man that he is right now.

Those are some valid points but do not forget the scheming Arrigo Sacchi is now at Real. So I believe this Galacticos policy is now history, and they are now interested in young starlets like Adriano to replace the aging galacticos.

Good post Han I agree with you.

But as I see it if Adriano in somway ends up in madrid this summer, Owen or Ronaldo would defently be on thier way out, because none of those can compite against either Raul(the heart af Real) or one the brightest forward talents in the world. Right now and probertly will be much more consistent then the likes of Ronaldo who haven't played well for a long time now, and haven't scored many goal. Wheile Owen is injured half of the time, so it's obvious who of those 3 that will be picked first. But we all know that Real even though it see unlikely that they can affod it, they always bring in a extremly expensive player to the club every season.

And I woulden be surpriced if it happend again. I just hope it hit them so hard finacial that they would have to sell alot of thier aspect in the future.

Well, it was great to hear that he spoke with Sandro Rosell before but still joined us. Sandro Rosell has this charisma that has been able to attract Brazillians such as Ronaldinho, Beletti, Edmilson and Deco (1/2 Brazillian) to the club.

By the way, rumours has it that he will be swapped with Ronaldo. I think I'd be a Milanista if such a transfer happen. :)
