The sad news yesterday was the failure of Egypt and Nigeria to qualify from their respective group stages. Those of you who follow Egyptian football would know the faltering condition their national team have been going through these past few years in their qualifications attempts in the World Cup and the African Cup of Nations. Nigeria's failure on the other hand came as shock as they were the defending Champions and have had a decent period in comparison to Egypt.

South Africa, Tunisia, Gabon, and Cameroon were undefeated in the group stages while Algeria collected the highest amount of points with 15 from 5 wins and 1 loss.

Really surprised Nigeria didn't qualify. I think Algeria will take it come this winter.

The last two groups seem a lot more stacked.

When talking about Egypt I am thinking about the strikers Mido, Zaki and Zidan. Zidan had a great period in Denmark and the same in Mainz and Mido had one in Ajax but otherwise have all of them being shit in their European clubs. Especially their attitudes. It is sad because all of them had the talent for more but the same can't be said about what is inside their heads.

Tunisia got robbed in the last minute , the organizing country (Equatorial Guinea) got a RuBe-style penalty :yao:
then Balboa with a well played free-kick .

Guinea got rewarded for saving the CAN .
