WAKE UP BHENCHODS fucking none of these cunts are cheap. For that kind of outlay (fucking €7m, unbelievable) I expect, no, demand at least a few free kick goals, preferably against Roma.

I'm dead

Not that big of a fan of him. Even for our national team I never liked him that much. He did has many positives when he was younger, especially in attack, but the guy is a terrible defender and he's always been lazy to defend.

He does offer great free kick ability which would come.inhandy. Would have preferred a younger and better option.

I know these reports keep saying Conte will play him as vice-Bastoni but I'll eat my fucking hat if we don't see this komrade at LWB at least a dozen times this season - especially now with Biraghi gone.

Speaking of that fascist, it would've been far better just to sign Biraghi for a number of reasons not limited to his homegrown status, his low wages, the ability to remove Dalbert in the same transaction, and least of all, the fact that he earned his place with his solid performances last season.

In the occasion that Kolarov is seen purely as a LCB then this makes the deal even worse because by all acounts the kunt is fucking terrible in that role. A case of pure age bias. Older = more experience = better. Fucking bhenchod, there's a consideration known as "ACTUAL FUCKING FOOTBALL ABILITY" and as a CB, Kolarov doesn't have it.

I disagree tbh. If you remember correctly there were loads of games this season especially at home where we struggled against teams that parked the bus against us. Now post Covid Conte was experimenting with that wide CB’s making overlapping runs which makes sense because why dafuq do you need 3 CB’s when they only have 1 guy in your own half and obviously Kolarov would be perfectly suited for that, not to mention his set pieces. It’s little details but they could end up making the difference at the end. Having said that I don’t want to see this guy playing CB against any big team that’s for damn sure.

Yeah I think Conte wants Kolarov to fill exactly that role which allows LCB to push forward and support the attack.

Biraghi <-> Dalbert was apparently rejected by Fiorentina (or Dalbert?). Surely if it was up to Inter, we would have taken that for sure.

But indeed, Kolarov is not a cheap acquisition. The annual cost rises to at least 8m€ level (only one year contract, option for second).

Side-centerbacks spamming long balls is Conte’s tactics (if you remember how many assists/ hockey assists/ golf assists...whatever) Bastoni had last season. And Kolarov is probably the best Serie A defender in terms of long balls and crosses.

Plus amazing freekicks, exactly what we are missing to unlock matches. We had too many draws last year, ONE goal from freekick can change the whole season. Erm... I can’t even remember what was the last time we scored a FK  only thing popping up in my mind was...Banega FKs dusting out our Euro Cup hope after 10 years.

3.5m salary is expensive, yeah, but you cant find cheaper and better options with such capabilities, at least for next year. If Conte can somehow mask his limitations i.e. slow & not great defense, this deal could still be helpful.

Welcome to Inter, Kolarov.

7m-8m a year can be too much, or not. Considering it's only for 1 year, it isn't bad at all.

The other important point is Conte's stubbornness with this fucking formation. If we stick by that, then I'd welcome Kolarov at LCB.

You can remember that for large parts of the season, especially in all matches in EL at the end (with that horrible midfield and D'Ambrosio at RWB), our only attacking threat came via long balls to Lukaku and hoping he can do enough to bring the others in play. And the only one doing that was Bastoni. De Vrij didn't do enough on this aspect during this phase, and Godin isn't great at it. Now at least, we can do this better with Kolarov, and also a little better from RCB if D'Ambrosio or Darmian play there.

But the other important aspect are the overlapping runs that these players could provide from both flanks. As long as we stick with this formation, it seems the right way to go.

But of course, best is to change the fucking formation, especially if we get Vidal and Nainggolan back. We should be playing a 4-man midfield then.

Another way to look at it is, our total cost per year for 2019-20 in FFP terms was ~220mn. This includes the amortized value and wages of all players on our books. This was spread across ~40(!!) players, leading to an average of 5.5mn per player.

The above would include a Lukaku who is at 23mn per year, Eriksen at 10mn, Skriniar at 10mn, etc.

Does Kolarov at 7-8mn justify his? If he starts and does well in a decent number of matches, then it's a no-brainer.

If Kolarov is bad all season then does a good month, everything will be forgetten and we will think it was a good call getting him. No worries mate

Young surprised me despite his age. Hopefully Kolarov can do the same

Totally not excited about him. Would have been perfect LWB, like 8 years ago.

Its cool to have people like him in the squad, but we already have Young as experienced wing back. He is soon to be 35, coming after 2 mediocre seasons where his contribution has been free kicks mostly. He doesnt have the stamina he used to have and he doesnt even bother defending.

That being said, imo transfer that was not needed at this time. We need to build for present but also future, having two 35 years old LWB might fuck us up badly..

Edit: he would be awful LCB. He has played like 10 games there his entire club career. His defensive workrate, positioning and marking have been a problem for him his entire career. That stopped him from being the best LB in the world.

This is exactly what I remember about Kolarov from back then when we were linked to him, he wasn't good enough defensively but had offensive traits with his cannon left foot and speed. Now he's much much older which negates his speed so the only thing he's probably outstanding in is taking set-pieces and shooting? I mean the only way this move makes sense is if we just don't have anybody stable to cover the LWB for very little cost. He's the freaking bare minimum...barely lol well I hope for the best.
