I haven't seen him play, but the point I was making is losing a potential over a player who is rapidly declining if not already fully declined.

Also, adding him in the deal means we're overpaying for Kolarov.

He doesn't even start for Primavera.

Must have missed a couple of episodes, but when he was 16-17 he was considered the best talent on the team and that included both Zaniolo and Esposito on Inter squads. But he was playing at a more junior level.

I see that Mulattieri has been taking his spot since Conte ordered all teams to play 3-5-2 and there's only room for 2 attacking minded players there.

more than a decade later

Now that we have money, We’re banging all the chicks from high school that rejected us

Kolarov is another of Antonio Conte’s old obsessions and one that the Inter coach went after last summer.

Sky: Roma are asking for €2m.

Gds: €1m offered by Marotta. Inter did not want to include any young player in the operation.

CdS: Kolarov will soon be an Inter player. After having found an agreement with Roma for €1.5M, Inter are now looking for the yes of the player who would like a two-year deal.

From this point of view, Marotta is not going to compromise: the contract will only have to be for one year with, at most, the option for a second. The resistance from the Serbian, according to the Corriere dello Sport, is fading away and the final conclusion of negotiation is expected in the coming hours.

Marotta wants to please Conte who sees Kolarov as the ideal solution to back up Bastoni in the three-man defense but the Serbian is also an option to give Young a breather on the left wing without losing that international experience.

Based on data provided by Opta, since joining Roma in 2017, Kolarov has scored seven direct free-kick goals in Serie A, placing himself second in the ranking of most FK goals for one team in front of players like Dybala (4), Griezmann (4) and Neymar (4).

Better than Kolarov there is only one: Messi with 17 goals from set pieces.

I'm not against this deal, we need a back up for Bastoni. Kolarov is cheap, experienced and may take a year deal plus option for a second (similar to Young). My only doubt is, he is really able to cover that position?

Honestly as long we see a few signature left footed thunderbolts I'm okay with bringing him in for the reported terms.
Always thought he was the most powerful lefty shooter I've watched along with Arne Riise.

Conte wants 16 wing backs, 8 to rotate in the 90th minute and 8 to use over the next 3 years. Also 7 central defenders works well because some of them can start as wing backs if need be.

This is tragic. Our entire team is becoming just CBs and WBs.

The complete idiocy behind adding a player to the kolarov deal should really go without saying

All these different rumours and situations behind this transfer fucking stink. We should abandon it like we did tonali.

Sky Italia: Aleksandar Kolarov will sign on next days his contract with Inter until June 2021. He’ll also have an option for the 2nd season. The Serbian LB is now gonna leave AS Roma. Here we go confirmed.

Good deal. We didn't commit to the second year without guarantees. Somewhere it was said it depends on how many matches he plays.

And I thought him ruining our formation in starting eleven was a pain in the arse but he doing it all through inter

Good deal. We didn't commit to the second year without guarantees. Somewhere it was said it depends on how many matches he plays.

And then we do what Mancini did with Santon - play him for precisely the exact number of games required to trigger his clause, causing us to exercise his mandatory purchase / extension, then never fucking play him again.

I think that Kolarov is a very good sign for us! It's true that he is not so young, but he has a lot of international experience, he has a monster left kick and can play as LWB and LCB. Welcome Alexsander!

Besides great international experience, the arrival of Kolarov can also guarantee Conte a lot of flexibility. And not just for the defensive phase of the game. In three seasons with Roma, Kolarov has 19 goals and 18 assists in addition to a world class left foot which will be very important on direct free kick situations.

Inter, as pointed out by the Gazzetta dello Sport, have not scored from a direct free kick for over two years: last time was April 2018 with Cancelo’s goal against Cagliari. With Kolarov, Inter have secured the best free kick specialist on the market but they have done so with very minor effect to the budget.

Roma will collect €1.5m and now we are waiting for his signature on the one-year contract worth €3m net in wages. There’s also option for Inter to renew it for one extra year after next season.

typical scene from our matches: Biraghi takes away the ball from Eriksen or Esposito (he scored plenty of goals from direct free kicks in Primavera) and shoots directly in one of the guys blocking the goal, so it doesn't surprise me that we didn't score this season.
