Fine. I’m happy he’s not playing matches which reduces his chances of getting injured.
Because we really need to be ready for the stellar season we are going to have with Inzaghi and a bunch of one year contract extension shitters.

And don't forget Alex Cordaz. No doubt an essential addition to our squad.

Happy for him, do wish he would have gotten a bit more playing time. He was certainly part of the squad but I don’t feel like he gained much experience from this other then getting to watch guys like Chillieni up close and seeing their mentality in dressing room.

Either way being around a winning atmosphere is always a good thing.

Just wait until he’s still on the bench for the World Cup.

Thankfully he’s still so young and has time on his side. Congrats to Alessandro for quite a friggin season with club and country.

And that experience is as important too. Bastoni is still so young that living in these moments being part of that squad will be building blocks of his route to becoming a next leading Italian CB.

Just wait until Acerbi starts over him during the Nations League in September.
They need to start rolling in with Bastoni soon, Chiellini-Bonucci ain't gonna cut it for too long.

Bonucci-Bastoni for a couple of seasons as transition, but they need to start looking at the next pairing soon. I dunno who it'll be though. Mancini-Bastoni? Roma needs to step up his game a bit... dunno who else there is... not ogbonna/rougani now surely

There's still Romagnoli, Mancini, Caldara, Toloi, Ferrari that can be serviceable but I think Italy's best course of action is going 3-5-2 in the World Cup provided that Chiellini won't be up to the task.

Bastoni on the left, Bonucci in the middle and anyone on the right side. There are options but no stand out talent.

Romagnoli has declined over the past 2 seasons, we'll see if he gets back on track.

Since Mancio will be reluctant to change his 4-3-3, the defense may look weaker than now adn I'm not sure if the attack will get better. Still, 15 months to go, way too early to speculate.

yeah. I dont think any of those jump out to me too well tbh. Mancini has got to be the most likely shout at this moment in time? Unless someone really emerges next season. Caldara surely doesnt have a chance, given how little football he's played in recent years

I think 433 is the right approach, their defence looks good enough, but their attack minus Chiesa is not cutting it.

Again it shows how defence is the winning approach.

433 gives more cover to the full backs as well, and unless Italy suddenly pull a Hakimi and a Hernandez out of thin air, they're gonna need it next year.

I think there's also a lack of steel in the Italian midfield - it'd really benefit by having a Kante/Rice or similar sort of player IMHO. If they get someone like that MAYBE they could go to 2 CMs, but right now, I think 3 CMs are very important.

Guys if you want to have a general discussion about Italy NT there's a thread for that. Please stick to discussing about Bastoni on this one.

That run in the 1st half was something else. If only Zinho didn't tackle him, it would've been a memorable goal for him
