If we have to sell, I would like us to sell Dumfries instead of Bastoni. He attracts interest from big clubs as well, maybe we can sell him for 45-50m. It sucks because Dumfries doesn’t deserve to be sacrificed but Bastoni is invaluable. I believe we can replace Dumfries easier anyway. Adama Traore?

Realistically its easier for Inter to find an adequate CB to replace Bastoni than it is to find a young FW who is certain to score 20+ goals to replace Lautaro Martinez.

Selling Bastoni for 70m~, but extending SDV and getting bremer for around 30m is much better than selling Lautaro and getting either another dinosaur has-been in the dzeko mold or overpaying for an unknown quantity like Scamacca. I understand the sentimentality about getting rid of a young italian, but in Inters situation a young defender like bastoni is a luxury, while a 20+ goal forward is a necessity. The former is easier and cheaper to replace than the latter.

Though in the end i fear both Bastoni and Lautaro will likely be sold. Selling both for a combined 150m€~ would allow Suning to bank the 80m€~ to cover depth. Then allow Perisic renewal (a huge mistake imo, despite his excellent season) and the salary to sign the injury prone Dybala and possibly Mkhisaurus, even with the reported 15% overall salary reduction. Then there should be leeway to invest in a new forward as well, hopefully not another dud like Correa.

Either way, rough time ahead for Inter surely.
I generally agree with this sentiment. Good strikers are simply harder to find.

However the issue with Bastoni is such players are quite unique too. That's why their cost is at strikers-tier. We lose Bastoni and we lose our way of attacking which is to push the LCB all the way to the box.

I can say Bremer is a better defender than Bastoni but the offensive output lost is massive. Ability to play with the ball, dribbling, forward runs, crossing, we can never replace these. We need to change the way we play and I'm not sure can Inzaghi pull that off.

He said it about Hakimi too and backtracked on that several times.

His initial claim was that we cannot keep players that want to leave and that Achraf had an offer he couldn't refuse.

Yeah that might be true. Also what might be true at the same time that we asked players' agents to look for offers outside. Hakimi got so good offer from PSG (he got 5m€ at Inter, got 8m€ offer from PSG) that he was maybe "well I might as well go".

Don't know how they are handling selling Bastoni. That kid is definitely leaving reluctantly. Hopefully it will be City and not some fucking Spurs.

Surely our management isn't incompetent that they'll sell Bastoni.

Finding a young competent Interista Italian left footed centerback who strikes balance his offensive and defensive output is much harder than finding productive young forward. The fact that City with hundred millions worth of centerback still seeking Bastoni speaks volume about his rarity.

And let's not talk about De Vrij or Bastoni's replacement. De Vrij has been a shadow of his former self and his salary is massive. I would rather lose De Vrij for 30 miilion than Bastoni for 100 million. And how can we replace Bastoni? Can we find another centerback who ticks all the boxes mentioned at paragraph above? I highly doubt it. Not even Bremer can replace Bastoni because the former is old-fashioned centerback while the latter is the more modern one. Bastoni should be simply not for sale period.

Yeah it sucks but you’re right. I think management and Inzaghi have decided the guy who moves the needle the least of our stars is Bastoni. Barella and Lautaro are just flat out harder to replace than a LCB.

It’s the same reason management chose Hakimi as the sacrifice last season over Lautaro, Lukaku, or Barella. It’s hard as hell to replace goals. Unfortunately Lukaku ended up forcing our hand and we can all see how that turned out.

I really like Bastoni and think he could be a club legend. But if we sign a quicker more agile player that can still pass the ball half decently we will lose less than we would if we sold Lautaro or Barella.

The club should avoid selling Barella and Bastoni unless a massive offer arrives which we can't refuse. Sell De Vrij, Dumfries, Sensi and Hakan to the highest bidders but don't touch Bastoni.

I disagree. I think Bastoni is incredibly hard to replace once you realize how good he is at everything he does. He's a top defender at the age of 23, he can make forward runs, passes well, crosses well, can play along the touchline, can play inside, and can pocket almost any player. Barella is also just as important. If we have to make a single sacrifice on this team it has to be Lautaro unfortunately. Bastoni is not replaceable, there is no other player like him.

In a perfect world we sell De Vrij and all our deadweight to make the 60m but with new reports saying it has to be plusvalenza we are hugely fucked.

Edit: you also do not sell players who are attached to the shirt and are important to the team. This is common football sense and we are going against this. Bastoni, Skriniar, and Barella retire here. Simple as.

Probably our best asset going into the future. If we sell this guy against his will i'm done and won't dedicated 10% of my energy to next season as i did the previous. This is a banter level sale that will fuck the dressing room and everyone in it. No one will trust the club, and everyone including Skriniar, Barella and Brozo will walk next.
You truly want to send us back to the banter era Steven you short cinezi fuck...this is the way to do it.

Where the fuck are the ultras? Stand up you dogs.

I actually don't buy it that management is doing these selections. I believe more in the theory they just sell the player who they can sell at this point ie. player who is getting offers and specifically big enough offers.

My theory is we've told the agents of the players to look for new clubs and agents might have told if their client is absolutely not going to move. I can see Bastoni being more interested moving out of Inter than Skriniar, Barella and Lautaro who all have kids. And this is not a dig at Bastoni, not at all. This is just empathy towards the players, Bastoni might have less restrictions to move than those other 3. He had offers from EPL last summer too.

I think it will be very hard to replace Bastoni's impact, very hard to say if Barella is harder to replace than him. Lautaro is surely super hard to replace, forwards at his tier cost a ton.

We made £146+m net positive transfers last year. How in the fuck do we need to make another 60m. What's going on. Like, what position would we be in if we didn't sell lukaku last year. What's the point with these fucks

jeez, he named his daughter Azzurra and we are considering his sale to Premier League. This guy loves Italy and Inter.
Do you remember how he was fed by his mom at the end of the season?

I can't see him in London. He will try to go back to Italy in next two years max and only Juve will be able to afford him then...
