BASTONI: ‘WE REALISED WE COMPLAINED TOO MUCH AT INTER’

Alessandro Bastoni commented on the team’s poor start to the season, the dangers of Salernitana and how Inter are trying to turn things around.

The Nerazzurri have lost four of their nine Serie A outings this campaign, leaving them in eighth in the league table. Simone Inzaghi’s side have looked a little more positive in Europe and their last two outings against Barcelona, a win at home and a draw away, will have given the team confidence after their early struggles.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italia, Bastoni first spoke about Inter’s desire to shake off their poor start.
“After a complicated start we are trying to find ourselves and our identity, now we’ll try to continue like this.”

He touched on the dangers of underestimating Salernitana after the draw with Barcelona.
“It’s one of the main problems of today’s match, going from Camp Nou to today is not easy but we have been working on this in the last three or four days.”

Finally, Bastoni commented on how Inter have worked to turn things around after their slow start.
“We discussed things and realised that we were complaining too much to others. So we came to the conclusion that we must always help each other and move forward together.”

Inter will be hoping to close the gap to the top four before Serie A takes a six-week break for the World Cup next month.

Unless Inzaghi miraculously wins Scudetto i doubt he will be at Inter after this season with a new ownership. There's so much uncertainty around the club that it's pointless to predict what's gonna happen next summer.

It's not really a prediction. It's almost guaranteed whenever there's a new ownership at a club. New owners new coach.

I'd say if we give Inzaghi&Marotta&co. more money to operate with, especially if we sell a starter, he'll be good enough for the new owners and there won't be reason to change Inzaghi for the first two seasons. I trust him that if he had better starting wingbacks, better forwards overall (Lautaro and 3 players that aren't Correa or too old (but Džeko is performing okay tbh)) and maybe one more quality CB. No more selling starters to pay for debt.

We are about halfway to having a really good squad (not just first team) for the next 4-5 seasons, which if new owners come, I'm positive we'd do what we need to. If we don't change ownership, then we'll fuck up careers for our younger core

Bastoni last season when he wasn't 100% fit. Players get subbed.
These minor things, nothing that would bastoni to be unwilling to play/renew with Inter cause inzaghi is mean to him.
