Those are three examples from like 2006-2010. The only noteworthy recent examples are Donnarumma, Pellegri, and this new Milan wunderkind.
Isn't this just a perfect proof that even Italian clubs do that if the player really has talent and means to make it in the first team. And now there simply haven't been such players too much compared to other countries.

Talent pool doesn't match with the other countries.

They don’t make it because of clubs don’t put any sort of effort into it, they hope that some unicorn end up in their laps, which of course never really happens.
They don't make it because you don't need even 3 new players from your youth team every year.

Youth team produces 20 players a season. First team is 25 players, and on average maybe 2-3 change a season...

There's simply not the space, which is also why you have to be the very fucking best to have a chance of making it, because the very best from Serie B/C primavera are also as good as the very best from Serie A

Irrespective of Inter, or even Italy, for every 1 or 2 kids who make it there are 20 that don't.

I don't know why we are even arguing about the loan side of this like somehow going on loan js a bad thing. Who cares if you're temporarily owned by another club, the only thing that matters as you say.. if you have the talent you'll make it.

I think your way overestimating success rate of youngster especially at inters level....
Also i d say it s hard to argue causuality when it comes to them being loaned and that being the reason they dont turn out good enough for inter...
Not like the youngsters we tried to incorporate early on did turn out significantly better castagnos/arnautovic/santon/karamoh.....
Again most players at age 18/19 are not ready to be starters at big teams and sitting on the bench wont get them developped.

Matter of fact i d argue non of our current starting 11 would have been good enough to be a starter or even regular from the bench when they were under 20...
also similar things could be said about our treble winning squad

Other sports been able to increase the amount and done so because of small pool size, a selection that might even been reduced.

In football they have a steady stream of young hopefuls every single year, so they don’t feel much need to do more then bare necessities unless they happen to be in countries where everyone counts .

Also it’s shocking how little people understand the psychological part of people in that age group, it’s not exactly healthy in that age being thrown around like a piece of trash. They are treated like they where a piece of furniture and not the actual living individual that they are, when you deal with children and young individuals you have a responsibility for their wellbeing.

Back on Fontanarosa i have to say i agree with crzd about giving him a chance. If our scouts have found a hidden gem ala Bisseck then great. Let's sign him. But if the alternative is a panic buy we don't really believe in just to sign someone then better keep this guy as an emergency option and re-evaluate the situation in January. He didn't look terrible in pre season so it wouldn't be a disaster to give him some minutes in Coppa games and against bottom sides at Meazza.

I dont get it you think we dont have the incentives to develop talents? Cause we very much do have an incentive to do that....

That is how it should work. There is no reason to not use Fontarossa, that would solve our LCB and LWB problem for the moment. It's impossible to say how he'll perform in Serie A when it matters, but I'd rather give him a chance, just like Bisseck and Asllani got instead of overpaying for an older player that might not be good enough for Inter anyway.

But we don't have the balls to do this.

Exactly, but we lack to show it.. we had several teams that was performing well at youth level and what have we achieved almost nothing.

You change approach when you see something is not working, which it evidently show it doesn’t.

honestly, pre-season is meaningless. Andrea Mira looked shit hot a few years ago in pre-season.

Inzaghi evaluates him every day on the training pitch, the kid has been at Inter since before COVID. Our coaching staff are well aware of his capabilities - if they think he's not yet ready to be useful to the first team, we should 100% loan him out to get some good minutes to develop.

Our staff also thought Bisseck wasn't ready and he should have gone out on loan. But then Pavard and Dumfries got injured, Bisseck impressed and he gained the trust of the coach.

Bisseck still stayed at Inter after preseason, we didn't loan him then. Meaning coach and the club didn't consider he should go anywhere. Fontanarosa is going to get loaned because he's not ready for Inter.

If Bisseck would be loaned back then, he would have gone to Serie A team to play as a starter or at least some serious minutes. Fontanarosa isn't going to do that, there's a clear difference in level between him and Bisseck of year ago.

That's the thing, and if he was loaned, it'd have been because they wanted to culturally immerse him more into Italy and surprise surprise a back 3 which has 4 high quality defenders in acerbi de vrij bastoni and Pavard doesn't leave a huge amount of space

Yeah yeah tell that to Pirlo, Seedorf, Coutinho, Bonucci, Di Gregorio, Zaniolo, Balotelli, Biraghi etc.
It's just the club don't trust young players after all, even the whole nation depend on this culture too. Stuck with the 1980-2006 mindset, collecting stars, primadonnas, matures, even the old ones, hoped them that they can satisfy the fans.

Seedorf came here at 24 and was a starter... Zaniolo did not even make it at roma, Balo got enough chances here, Biraghi imho is not good enough for inter and surely was not when he was young, Bonucci was loaned out and only got his jube spot a 23....digregorio got his big break at 27 should we have just kept him sitting on the bench till then and how good would he have become?
So you have a point ith maybe two of these

Okay, then let's fire our youth scouts who apparently haven't found a player worthy of Inter in 25 years.

Well, the answer is either we fire the youth scouts who havent found an inter-worthy player for 25 years, or we fire the coaching team for failing to develop an inter-worthy youth player in 25 years...

And given its the same youth scouts who convince the club to spend money on, say, 10m for Salcedo, 7m for Colidio, 1m for Tassi, I kinda know what I wanna try first

Both sides have their faults. In the league where boomers always inject into youngsters heads "nah... you would be 99% useless anyways" then it ruins all the poor kids confidence. They would lose their passion and question their career choice even "why tf do I bleed on the field when I am not seen 'talented' enough".

Don't buy the arguments "should the kid have talent he should start elsewhere" either. That shit is no joke. Being alone in a foreign country at teenage with next to nothing salary... catching up with the the foreign colleagues having their parents cheering on the stand. Kills his motivation completely.

Balo coutinho players our scouts spotted early but sadly did not work out....Its not that easy there are many factors to a player reaching that level.
Plus there is dimarco and bastoni who both are starters right now and most likely got spotted by our youth scouts. Then there is Bonucci and zaniolo who again were spotted early but did not work out here for reasons.
On top of this i think we are amongst the top teams in terms of former primavera players in serie a, which in itself would suggest our scouts aint that bad.

Again i think most fans underestimate just how hard scouting is and how much development happens between 16 and say 20 guy might be the best thing since Ronaldo at 16 and be nothing special at 18 with very little a scout can do about it. We have seen to many new "superstars" in serie A hat did not amount to anything special: Jovetic/Zarate/Balo/El sharaawy/schick/Icardi/ Bernardeschi... quite sure the list goes on and on these were players that at 18-20 seemed destined for greatness and they all turned out average at best.....

Bottom line there are a lot of factors in the development of a youth players that a scout cant determine. I d argue that we have to stop paying big bucks for youth such as with salcedo these deals just dont seem to work out even for other teams...
I m sure Monaco aint to happy they paid 20 mio for pelegri

just take a look at this list: https://onefootball.com/en/news/the-most-expensive-teenagers-of-all-time-37633320 I d argue more than half of them flopped and those were more established players than primavera guys so should have ben easier to judge now do all those teams have shit scouts?
People get blinded by the few who make it and somehow forget about all the other future stars as soon as they re playing at bologna or cagliari and the hype has died down.
Also there is always the occasional brozo a talented guy but who needs the right coach to find the right spot for him in order to let his talent shine and to get him under control....
People make this out to be an easy game but then bitch about very player that does not perform according to ther expectations for 3 games.
