This kid, that doesnt even have a thread, just became the Rano replacement, as Stevie dont wanna spend any money, even on Acerbi.

Good luck Alessandro.

No wonder coach wants a veteran of NT level experience and not a Primavera level player.

Not trying to be condescending, but what player that Inzaghi wanted, worked out for us so far?

That wasn't in the discussion.

It's not quite the same, but Spalletti also wanted proved, world class Nainggolan to play as AM, and not some primavera kid, named Zaniolo.

Not quite the same? Really? I thought Fontarossa is the next Nesta but no one has given him the chance.

Seriously, can we stop comparing all our kids to Zaniolo case? I'd say that was an enormous anomaly.

My point is that almost every player can play decently 2-3 games. During the banter era we threw kids like Benassi, JJ, Gnoukuri etc. In the long stretch, most of them were trash, but every one of them had their good moments. Here we speak for 2-5 games per season. Acerbi is an old, expired and slow fart. You don't have any guarantee that he will do better in 1-2 matches than some motivated young player.

I'm pretty certain Acerbi will do better as an emergency backup than any of our Primavera CBs.

you have no evidence to support this
Yeah I surely do not have as Acerbi hasn't played a single game for Inter.

Like I have no evidence that Messi would be better than Correa for us.

Then why are you so certain?

Unlike you, varmin provided you several arguments to support his hypothesis that a primavera kid might perform better than a veteran with a suspicious past.

Just like Kolarov did for us? And Kolarov was world class player compared to Acerbi.

Question, whats the best CB we've produced since Bonucci?

Simone Pasa comes to mind, "maybe" zinho?

Zinho is a top talent. He had won best young prospect of the season award in Belgium. Sadly he's made of glass. Caldirola also had a decent career in Germany and Italy.

and caldirola is exactly my example of "building a team of these players", I'd much prefer Acerbi to him.

re Zinho, I dunno about top talent, he has a lot of potential but did he look great at Genoa?

Because I don't trust any of our Primavera CBs are Serie A worthy. They are not Serie A proven, unlike Acerbi. Zaniolo was an anomaly and IMO cannot be use as some measuring stick.

Re Zinho, he's a top talent with potential, but still there's just potential so far. Hasn't shown consistency, he's always injured. Let's hope he's injury-free this season so maybe he comes back next summer.

But how many veterans have we signed that actually proved to be worthwhile? Didn't signing the likes of Rocchi, Forlan, Vidic, Palombo, Kolarov and etc, etc. provide enough evidence that it's risky too? Yes, I agree, relying on a primavera kid is risky as well, but it's a lot cheaper and you can always offload them easily with minimum effect on your budget
