That excuse is hardly convincing, buddy. Ansaldi was far from free. The cost was Laxalt AND 7m. That money was just enough to redeem Telles. We simply didnt trust Telles and thought Ansaldi+Erkin were better.

Ansaldi was 2m+Laxalt.

I don't know from where Transfermarkt get those numbers. Italian media had reported 2m+ Laxalt.

https://www.gazzetta.it/Calciomercato/30-07-2016/ansaldi-inter-vero-affare-genoa-2-milioni-piu-laxalt-160529860966.shtml

http://www.fcinter1908.it/ultimora/ansaldi-ora-e-ufficiale-e-un-affare-per-linter-con-laxalt-plusvalenza-da/

Edit: It seems we're both wrong. It was 4.2m + Laxalt. Ansaldi was bought for 10m while Laxalt was sold for 5.8m.

Ha ha the Telles delusion persists I see. The truth is Telles was rubbish here and didn't deserve to be signed; even Nagatomo was better than him ffs!

I've watched him the last two games against Roma and he's still nothing special. I'd prefer Asamoah, thanks.

Yeah, Mancini didn't have the 11 million to sign him.

Mancini wanted Telles at Inter and he brought him over. Then Mancini didn't want to keep Telles at Inter. He said let's go get Erkin, he's free. And he also wanted to get Ansaldi who was allegedly 'hot commodity'.

We have no clue if the management would have sealed the Telles deal without Mancini's interference, so the safe thing is to say that Mancini didn't want to keep him around. Hence why we got a left back from Turkey, a league where Mancini worked in before rejoining us and we probably had no dealings with since Emre, Sukur and Okan 15 years back.

You seem to have the inside scoop on everything that goes on at the club.

I'm not saying anything that wasn't public knowledge.

The only bit is about Ansaldi who was wanted as a safety player and due to the non-EU spot. The management probably insisted on such a player with Mancini saying yes to the Argentine or pointing directly at him. Ansaldi was considered a good LB back then in Serie A, he wasn't a bad transfer on paper.

He needs to rest, he´s far away from the level he performed last season but he´s still a good player. We don´t have a back up LB, the one we brough on loan isn´t an option for the coach, I read on a newspaper this weeks that he´s on a sequence of 31 matches without resting a single minute and we´re only in the beginning of March.

Still banged 9 assists so far though, and with the god awful attack that we have that´s saying something.

Unless he gave away goals or scored a couple of own goals I don’t see how that’s relevant to his ability?

He’s pretty much a proven solution for us.

Although there was the odd case with Georgatos where a second stint could be worse than the first.

Yeah, as if it justifies buying Telles. Mancini reject who returned to Portuguese-speaking environment and is still playing there...well, I am sure you guys see him as a great asset for our underachieving left flank.

In fact, he isn't better than Dalbert. If he was- he would've already been playing at a higher level. But Portuguese clubs can easily sell frauds under the "good and promising player" guise, so I won't be surprised to read him name in the calciomercato rumours. Replacing Dalbert with Telles is laughable and totally in line with idiotic Inter way of doing things.

So Telles will be €40m instead of €50? I hate dealing with Portuguese clubs. Quaresma and Ciao have already been super expensive flops. We don't have the extra income to chance it.

I'd take him with open arms, never wanted him gone in the first place. he is the most capable LB we've had since ages. His main problem was his physical condition, he was too soft, but he bulked up at Portugal, seems to be much stronger.

I'd pass tho, as Porto would want huge money for him. Atletico were on the verge of getting him, but couldnt meet Portos asking price, i.e. his release clause of 40m. Atletico was willing to offer 30, so in the end they went with Lodi.

Quaresma and Mario were success comparing to that Full Back/Winger on Left Side we were robbed for. I forgot his name but he had Schelotto's horse running style.
