I usually leave out the traitors, once they crossed over to the enemy side; they're dead to me...

Only Meazza is the exception to that rule.

Not the best eleven, but my personal favorites from the players since i've started to follow Inter. Cordoba and Cruz as a fullback and wingattacker may seem a little bit strange (although Ivan has actually played there a couple of times), but they had to be in this team:

Julio Cesar

Maicon Samuel Materazzi Cordoba

J. Zanetti Stankovic Cambiasso

Eto'o Milito Cruz

Bench: Toldo, Mihajlovic, Motta, Recoba, Crespo

Ranocchia, Juan Jesus and Guarin (he could be on the bench right now instead of Recoba actually, who i have seen too little in an Inter-shirt unfortunately) could become future favorites. :)

Lucio would actually be on the bench instead of Miha if he weren't so stupid to join Jube.

I have been an Inter fan since the late 80s, and my pick for the best players in an Inter shirt would be:

---------------Vieri
Eto'o -------- Djorkaef -------- Figo*
------- Matthaus - Cambiasso
Brehme - Bergomi - Samuel - Zanetti
------------- Pagliuca

Others who could easily justify a place in that team: Cesar, Maicon, Simeone, Stankovic, Sneijder, Ronaldo, Milito, Ibrahimovic

*Figo gets in only because I can't think of anyone better in that position. Perhaps it would be more apt to put in Maicon in his place, even though he didn't play for Inter in that role.

I am surprised so many are mentioning Recoba, I loved the player too but he was a disappointment in terms of never really reaching anywhere close to his potential. Another I would like to mention is Baggio, one of my personal favorites, but I guess for Inter he wasn't as deserving as some others.

Even though I haven't seen them play outside of archival footage my father was an Inter fan during the Herrera's Le Grande Inter of the '60s. To omit players from that era would just be criminal. The stories I hear about Mazzola and Facchetti make me wish I was alive in that era to see what a team we had.

True, Davide. But I have only picked the players who have played for Inter since I have been a fan. This is because I can do more justice to this selection, as I have seen these players play for Inter (yeah, I am old like that):

Inter XI (since 1988):
---------------Vieri
Eto'o -------- Djorkaef -------- Figo*
------- Matthaus - Cambiasso
Brehme - Bergomi - Samuel - Zanetti
------------- Pagliuca

Others who could easily justify a place in that team: Cesar, Maicon, Simeone, Stankovic, Sneijder, Ronaldo, Milito, Ibrahimovic

I can pick a team of legends, but this will be a list based on what I have read, rather than what I have seen. Anyways, for what its worth, let me try to pick such a team of all time greats for you:

All Time Inter XI:
------------- Meazza
--------- Corso --- Mazzola
-- Matthaus - Cambiasso - Suarez
Facchetti - Bergomi - Burgnich - Zanetti
--------------- Pagliuca

Subs: Cesar, Baresi, Picchi, Samuel, Maicon, Brehme, Oriali, Altobelli, Boninsegna, Vieri.

(Yeah, Zenga did not enter either of my selections - I am old enough to judge this rationally, and I just rate Pags and Cesar more)

The all time selection for me is dominated by Le Grande Inter I over the trreble winners is mainly because:
1. They won two CLs (European Cups)
2. Most of them played for Inter for a longer period, as opposed to many stars of Le Grande Inter II who only played briefly at Inter. For me, if you haven't played at least 100 Serie A games for Inter, you shouldn't even be considered for selection to an all time Inter list.

I've been an Inter fan since the early 2000s. I planned to make a "best 11" line-up, but thought I haven't watched enough players in order to post an interesting one. So, I decided to present a line-up comprising players that I've hated most seeing on the pitch.

----------Livaja-----Pandev
--------------Alvarez
Muntari---Kharja----C. Zanetti----Cesar
Pereira-------Burdisso--------Favalli
--------------Fontana

Subs: Solari, Biabiany, Mancini, Quaresma, Balotelli, Obinna, Arnautovic, Suazo

Coach: Benitez/Gasperini

Yes, I thought about Jonathan and Rivas too. About Pandev, I hate watching him play sooo much. Even his winning goal in Munich couldn't help me forget all of his previous misses. He is just so overrated (my opinion). About Alvarez... I've seen him make a good performance only once. He even messed up everything he could during the 5 mins he had against Torino. I really wanted us to keep Coutinho and sell Alvarez instead.

From what I've seen:

JC
Maicon Lucio Samuel Brehme (R.Carlos)
Matthäus Sneijder Simeone (Ince)
R.Baggio Eto'o
Ronaldo

Baggio was past his prime, true, but he still was "Il divin codino" and owned R.Madrid by himself.

I like doing starting elevens of Inter's team from time to time and compare them to each other so I can see what changed in my mind since the last time I did it, but you know, from the beginning there's something that has never changed :

Simoni's Inter is to date the best Inter that I have watched with my own eyes (from 96 when I became tifoso onward), I know that Inter 2010 is one the best and won us a treble, I know that if you look in the defense compartiment, it's a joke compared to Mourinho's Inter and I'm not the kind of guy who swear by the offensive football, but man :

Fresi, Colonese, West, Ze Elias, Winter, fucking Moriero (my hero), Simeone, Djorkaeff, Zamorano, Ronaldo, Zanetti, Cauet, Pagliuca, Recoba, Bergomi, fucking Mazzantini, Berti, Kanu, Ganz ... even Tarantino aws playing for us (haha).

If I have to pick one team, it's this one, if I have to pick one era, it's from 97 to say the lost Scudetto in 2002, because of the upcoming newcomers (Baggio, Di Biagio, Vieri, Adriano).

So ... am I the only one who - despite being in an indescriptible joy after the treble - would pick another Inter than 2010 as my favorite ? I am a ... loser ? /s
