Our starting keeper is 37 and you're worried about the expiry date of a 25 year old?
Onana isn't coming on a 1 year deal, is he now?

I wish I could be on board with him being our next #1, with no complaints about his quality, for the next 7-8 years, but I just cannot see him surviving here for more than 2-3 rather turbulent seasons.

Quit whining. Great deal. Great keeper!
arsenal wanted him lyon wanted him he rejected them because he thought barca would want him and he will have his pay day. i am 100% sure he rejected lyon or arsenal because they were not dumb enough to give him 3 million a year

You think the club that just spent 24million on Aaron Ramsdale was going to sign Onana this coming summer?

Just because the media make stuff up doesnt mean theres any substance in it. Also, all things being equal, I'd expect him to pick Inter over Arsenal. We're in the CL. Arsenal probably wont be.

He rejected them because he already had a verbal agreement with Inter.

TBH I didnt really delve into the whole Barca thing too much because I dont think Barca were ever practically in for him, I think the 'Ter Stegen for sale' rumours were just made up BS but could be wrong. We'll see.

With Neto, Ter Stegen and Pena, it just doesnt make much sense to me. I took that as 'yes, I'd love to go back to the club that developed me', rather than 'I want to go back to Barca now'

but... how do you know that? Theres no actual evidence Arsenal nor Lyon nor Barca were ever in for him. Arsenal just spent £24m on Ramsdale and are happy with him, so they are unlikely to be chasing a new keeper right now. Barca have two first team level keepers. I'm not familiar with Lyon, but again, Inter over Lyon isnt crazy.

A player isnt turning down a champions league club like Inter to play Europa Conference for Arsenal.

Do your arguments about quality extend to De Vrij, Calhanoglu, Eriksen, Cambiaisso, etc as well? Hell, Dzeko signed for Inter for free - if he was any good and anyone else wanted him, he'd have signed for them over Inter right?

Your posts make no sense.

I'll keep asking it. How does your logic apply to De Vrij? Or Eriksen? Or Hakan? Or Dzeko?

Are those guys all shit players who weren't wanted in the market and we overpaid for them?

Also, I'll stress it again:
1 - Barca aren't, to anyone's public knowledge, looking for a goalkeeper right now.
2 - Arsenal just spent nearly 30m euros on a goalkeeper, and they really like him
3 - Lyon, fuck knows, but Inter is a more prestigious club than Lyon, so with two identical offers I expect him to take the Inter one.

You cant just make up fictional offers, THEN decide they were lower than what Inter offered, and then chew out the player for being shit because fictional offers from clubs that didnt want goalkeepers fictionally lowballed the player, so Inter fictionally overpaid for him.

I agree with Sawyer, Musso was not great enough to replace Handanovic. Plus, he also costed Atalanta €20M.
Should sign him already.
I don`t get it when some people write stuff like this. Could you please explain why? Why would Inter spend money on something we`ll get for free, anyways?

It does not even seem crucial for our title challenge! Back then, it made sense to spend 27M on Eriksen because he could have made the difference in winning scudetto. For Onana? Neah. Better keep the money for other department.

PAGLIUCA WARNS INTER ABOUT ONANA AND BLAMES POCHETTINO

Former Inter star Gianluca Pagliuca blames Mauricio Pochettino for the confusing rotation of Gigio Donnarumma and Keylor Navas and says Inter must avoid the same situation with Andre Onana.

The Ajax goalkeeper underwent his medical with the Nerazzurri earlier this week. He will complete a free transfer to Inter at the end of the season, but Samir Handanovic would still sign a contract extension with the Serie A champions, playing his last season with the Nerazzurri in 2022-23.

The Slovenian goalkeeper sees his current deal expire on June 30.

“Handanovic is still a great goalkeeper, he’s been unbeaten for over 500 minutes this season. He made some mistakes at the beginning of the campaign, but he is still a great goalkeeper,” Pagliuca said Sky Sport Italia.

The former Italy and Inter shot-stopper believes Onana will be an excellent signing for the Nerazzurri but warned Simone Inzaghi about his management.

“He should avoid the same chaos as PSG. I don’t think Onana will be the regular starter from the very beginning. I think he will slowly become a starter playing some games in Coppa Italia and Serie A.

“PSG have two top goalkeepers like Donnarumma and Navas, but they never know who plays. Pochettino didn’t handle this situation well.

“There isn’t logic in his decisions. When Donnarumma plays a good game, he goes on the bench in the following one. It all seems quite random. Had he picked one goalkeeper for cup games and one for the league, it would have been more logical.”

I personally hope Handa stays for AT LEAST 1 more season, until Onana gets it in Italian and gets the italian GK training.

Does he have a Spanish passport? There's the non-EU slot thingy as well.

Yeah, that's true. I did some checking last night and I cant find evidence of a Spanish passport, but I'm not sure.

How many non-EU slots have we used up already? Looking at our transfer in list, I'm not sure if we signed anyone who was non-EU?

It might be useful to bring him in early so we keep the slot for next year, or at least park him with another team like we did with Cesar/Chievo for 6 months.

As far as I know he does not have a Spanish (or EU) passport.

Well, he already knew for months he`s going to sign with Inter so let`s hope he`s preparing for it.

He can surely hire a figo professore di Italiana out of that 3M/year, not to mention the signing-on fee.
