When you look at our plusvalenza options, Onana is the worst player. Barella, Lautaro, and Barella should be unsellable. Gosens, Dumfries, and Dimarco might have some plusvalenza built into them, but not much. Brozovic is probably too old, and I'd argue Calhanoglu is harder to replace.

Didn't we say the same thing about Cragno 2 years ago? And where is he now? Benched by our 4th choice keeper at the time...

Finding the right goalkeeper is not easy. Unless you know that he's been consistently around at a high level, anything else is a gamble. And there are those who never got lucky enough to have someone gamble on them (eg Skorupski or Dragowski) that could be well worth the trouble.


Chelsea is nuts enough to offer 100m for Onana, especially if we somehow end up in the CL final. I mean, even his biggest fan would say yes to that deal, even knowing that we'd barely reinvest 30m of that.

Think about it for a second. Handa was the last Serie A GK who made it. Since then we have had Perin Bardi Radu Cragno Gollini Donnaruma… who all have failed to step up. It has been 10+ years.

Did Handa made it? He got like one Serie A to his name, but otherwise he is like the Spurs of goalkeepers, great when it doesn't matter, bad in important moments. Well okay, I'm overreacting, but the point stands.

I can thank him for his service, but he wasn't a Toldo or Julio Cesar. How many seasons did he have that he was solid throughout the whole season? His first two at Inter and his first season with Spalletti?
