Some of the posts on here have been a bit puzzling.
Personally, I think some posters on here are trying to revise his season with us, the reason for his leaving and assess him in light of what is presently going on at Manchester United rather than how he actually performed on the pitch for us. Looking back on Onana's season with Inter and assessing his current form while he is playing for another club is not a fair assessment.
Another point that has not really been mentioned is the ten players that played in front of him at Inter and the team he has playing in front of him at Manchester United. I do not watch Manchester United but at Inter, he found a team that was willing to build from the back, accommodate and had great confidence in him. Think about our Captain who hustles and pressures from the front, Barella dialing it up in midfield or the composure that Acerbi and Bastoni have as defenders as well as Darmian's willingness and experience. I am guessing that is very different to what Onana has at Manchester United. They still think they are the club they were under Sir Alex and expect their players to perform accordingly, regardless of how far from the truth that may be.
I am grateful for the season we had with him and wished he could have stayed longer. But financially, it made sense that he would be the player the club elected to sacrifice.
