i am not a fan of Onana, but idk why United fans are even mad at him. He has not done anything wrong so far. The only mistake he made was the penalty vs the wolves, but that don't count cause VAR fucked up... They have much bigger problems than Onana.

They were hoping for someone much better than he seems to have been in the performances so far

cause i dont think hes that good at shot stopping and makes lots of mistakes on set pieces... I also am also not that big into gk's that are good with their feet, but if i was, id probably rate him much higher.

You do know that is a requirement of modern gk, you are going to get used to it because next gen have one of that as their trademark.

yes i know more and more gk's are playing good with their feet, but as of right now its not needed to win the league.

That’s just a matter of time, today you can’t easily win without playing defenders.

Hopefully he will realize what it means to play for a loser club.

You guys are saying that like he forced the move. We basically put him on the market to the highest bidder, he just didn’t put up a fuss.
And there was only one bidder.

you guys make it sounds as if he didn't also mention that he saw the club as only a stepping stone from his suspsenion. so what is the problem here?

What if he is actually not a good goalkeeper? And his exceptional ball playing skills masked his poor goalkeeping performances?

Manchester United is a shambolic club anyway. Glazers, Sancho, Ten hag, Antony, Maguire etc ...... what a mess of the club.

There was another goalkeeper here that was liked better than Onana. Sommer just had 3 clean sheets in a row and his thread seems inactive.

Now if Onana was here for at least 4 seasons, they would warm up to him, but being here for only one season he will be either too underrated or too overrated for people. No focus on what his numbers were and how we finally managed to get over the last 16 CL hump, even managed to reach the CL final, with, if I'm correct, 7 clean sheets???

Onana is a great goalkeeper end off. What he did for us in one season as mentioned the 7 clean sheets in the UCL speaks for itself. It's not Andres fault Man Utd is an utter complete shit show.

One of his main attributes was playing with his feet, which was essential and a big part of our success, his calmness in those situations was sensational too.

Some of the posts on here have been a bit puzzling.

Personally, I think some posters on here are trying to revise his season with us, the reason for his leaving and assess him in light of what is presently going on at Manchester United rather than how he actually performed on the pitch for us. Looking back on Onana's season with Inter and assessing his current form while he is playing for another club is not a fair assessment.

Another point that has not really been mentioned is the ten players that played in front of him at Inter and the team he has playing in front of him at Manchester United. I do not watch Manchester United but at Inter, he found a team that was willing to build from the back, accommodate and had great confidence in him. Think about our Captain who hustles and pressures from the front, Barella dialing it up in midfield or the composure that Acerbi and Bastoni have as defenders as well as Darmian's willingness and experience. I am guessing that is very different to what Onana has at Manchester United. They still think they are the club they were under Sir Alex and expect their players to perform accordingly, regardless of how far from the truth that may be.

I am grateful for the season we had with him and wished he could have stayed longer. But financially, it made sense that he would be the player the club elected to sacrifice.
