Utter trash? Guy has saved United this season more than anyone. Fantastic keeper, better than Sommer for sure. Imagine Sommer playing for this United lol

I don't know why people can't distinguish between bad and inconsistent. Not just with Onana but in general.

There are periods of time he's been great and fans love him and periods he is bad and fans hate him.

He was bad last season, but to say he is utter trash this season is malicious to say. He had so many phenomenal stops and saves this season, saved their asses dozen of times. Every keeper would struggle in team like United.

TBH, the big problem for him is that he doesnt have a reliable defense. Yes, he makes some real blunders, but at Inter he probably (someone stats check me?) faced far fewer shots per game. He's not an amazing shot stopper, he's a good goalkeeper though, and you need a defense that helps him compensate for his shotstopping

Tbh i haven't checked their stats this season (and i can't be arsed to do it now) but last season they were even conceding more chances than sides in relegation zone.

Yeah, they v made a big mistake by getting rid of de gea and bringing someone like onana. De gea is a type of keeper that will help you when your defense is shit. Onana is a keeper to have on an already built team that has certain identity and needs some fine-tuning (his ball playing skills for example). Utd now just needs someone with basic fundamentals, not a niche goalkeeper.

yeah, but hes a really good shot stopper, as i said above, i dont think Onana is really. At Inter he looked better than he is because he faced relatively few shots per game.

If your mistkae rate is 5% as a bad keeper, and you face 100 shots in a season, you concede 5 goals from mistakes. If you face 500 shots in a season and oyur mistake rate is 3%, you lose 15 goals.
