Dude was crucified on FIF when a shot going 30 meters to the right ball deflected at Perisic face and ended up in the bottom left corner man... What are you on about?
As I said, right mind.

He was okay, had two vital stops, but let's be real here. If this were Handanovic you'd crucify him for being a "statue" in two goals and for not dropping to prevent the parallel ball in the low cross. You'd be mostly wrong, but you'd be doing that...

Great ball for the 3rd goal, while Lautaro timed the run perfectly.
No mistake leading to a goal plus a kick that if Handanovic would have attempted wouldn’t have even reached the half way like. Give it a rest, you got proven wrong. Leave it at that

While I feel that he is better on the line, and passing the ball (not matter if long or short passes), it‘s clear that Handanovic is the more calming presence when it comes to managing the five meter territory.

He has to become better at that and at Areal Situations.

Great assist to Lautaro.

Jury is still out on him, he drops saves too often and is animated which can be taken either way. Hopefully over the next couple of year he turns out to be a WC GK, we will see.

He suffers from some growing pains that shouldn't exist at age of 26, but let's also not forget that he had a long pause from football. I imagine most of his jumpiness and tension stems from him still not speaking Italian. There was a particular moment when Barca had a FK on the right wing and Onana kept screaming at Dimarco to adjust the wall but couldn't get to him. Other than that, his silly excursions toward the edge of the box are going to make him concede a few goals and then he will stop doing that. It's a lesson that apparently needs to be learned the hard way.

He should be a starter for the rest of the season regardless, and let Handa play coppa and some of the easier fixtures near the end of the season.

He's not very convincing but I still take him over Handa.
Yeah, the benefit though is that he has a lot of room to grow. His only shakiness has been judgement on high balls really so far and some catches, which he can absolutely improve. He's been out of football for a long time. I'd rather focus on him and give him the space to grow, rather than handa who is on the way down.

for whatever it's worth, he isn't as bad as Brehme is trying to make him be, but he also isn't perfect.

I think we had worse goalkeepers and I'll survive a few seasons of Onana if he keeps improving like this

I agree with ya'll that it's too early to tell if he's good or not, or I should say starter material yet.

One (dumb) thing I'll say though, you know how some players have punchable faces? To me Onana is the opposite, he has a cheery one that just makes me want him to become the best keeper ever. Hell, he could achieve that as the best ball-playing goalie.

26 is young for a keeper actually.

We have to give him some time to settle in. He’s never going to have the same command in the air that someone like Donnarumma does but you have have to hope he can improve his decision making with time.

You also have to play to your own strengths. The guy is lethal with his feet against a high back line. That long ball to Lautaro was impressive and smart.

I like his attitude and personality in the net as well.

Worst game so far I think. Nothing much to do on the goals, but his choices with the ball were...questionable. There was also one occasion where Fiorentina fizzed the ball across and he definitely should have done something about it, but he just kind of fell over?

Anyway, onto the next one.

Couldnt really do anything on the goals, but his passing was pretty bad. Especially that one pass that almost lead to a goal in the first half. Still, the biggest problem are our defenders.
