Your entitled to your opinion of course but for me Bonucci is not of the same ilk. He has gotten more playing time thus far in his career, but the only aspect of his game I would take over Rano's is distribution. Chiellini and Barzagli are quality but the latter is on the decline.

ok, not Bonucci, but still the point stands. he is not as good as Campagnaro on the LCB, and I doubt he'll ever be, he is not as good as Barzagli or Chiellini, altho an adequate passer, he looks awkward on the ball, and I have second thoughts about him being our central cb. I was hyped last year, good start of the season, but even that ended, and then he looked really frail against some opposition I would never expect, like Siena. altho when the whole team isn't coached as it should be, ofc defence suffers, but I'm still sure he can't just walk into Italy's first eleven, because he still isn't even close to what Cordoba, the Wall and Materazzi used to be for us.

ChillBro, I hope you're right, and I'm not saying he's a bad player, I'm just worried that won't be as good as some of y'all expect him to be and that he will crumble. I'd rather have him for a 4men defence

I'm giving him one last chance tbh, with Mazzarri he can developp.

Since he came here, he knew something like 5 different coaches, many systems, many parteners in defense, it's not the best thing for a youngster to progress.

Wait the end of the season and then judge.

I don't necessarily disagree with anything you said... against really fast and small forwards he will likely struggle because of pace. However, i'm more optimistic this year, than any other, that with some consistency in formation, and with mazzarri and hugo as influences... he will be an absolute stud this year and take a big step forward.

Let's see though, it is a bold prediction no doubt, but he will be playing for Italy in Brazil.

He sure has got more confidence in his game now. I thought he was solid against genoa, really controlling in defense and not making 'brain farts'. Really looks like he has made the step up to become a force in defense. Those complaining about his lack of speed, its going to work itself out because he is flanked by two of the most over zealous defenders in the league.

The only problem our team had on Sunday was we looked raw and slightly uncoordinated, like a new team. Which is inspiring because that will be fixed when the team has more games and time together.

I think he's earned it honestly. He is becoming a leader on the field, looking forward to him becoming official captain.

When did he do that? In the first game of the season?

He should bring some continuity in his game and ask again.

People will continue to underrate Rano here, as it's the Inter way. But he was our best defender last season by a mile and didn't give up when others resigned to the fact we are shit. And he did this unfit. No coincidence Conte liked him, its because he's our most valuable defender. If Chivu is worth the money he's getting than how can not expect Rano to ask for a raise?

The Inter way is giving players pay raises after one good season. Well, Ranocchia wasn't even able to perform one season. Being our best defender of the last season means nothing, especially when you had a lot of bad games like Rano.

And also the comparison with Chivu means nothing because Chivu isn't worth the money he's getting.

3m each season would made him one of our top earners. And before becomming that he should perform well a couple of games in a row.

I don't think a CB who cannot even get into his NT over Astori and Ogbonna deserves 3m a year. He's a good CB, but until he proves himself to be great, which I think he wont, he doesn't deserve a pay-rise.

Plus look how good Campagnaro looks in comparison to Rano. He is a better defender, and he isn't getting 3 million a season, so why should Rano?

agreed. I'm still not sure about Rano and JJ, but those two next to Campagnaro are our best bet right now

sooner or later there will be another JJ incident or Rano being too slow and FIF will hate again

Let him get rated by the pundits and coaches as Serie A's best defender this season, and then fuck it - I'll throw in an autograph with that raise. But until then, he should shut the fuck up and earn that shit.

BTW: Bonucci just got more playing time than Ranocchia because he isn't hurt all the time (one more reason for no pay rise). But I also can't hear this excuse anymore. It's the same like: "Ranocchia is missing experience." This guy is 25, in his ninth season as professional. I think in Serie A alone he already made about 100 games. Add some in Serie B, Coppa, NT and CL. The only halfway reasonable excuse for the mistakes he still makes is that he was never able to make many games in a row - and even that's not true (look at last season). So when I look at the last years I would make the same choice like Prandelli: Bonucci > Ranocchia ... althought frog already earns more than the Jubentus CB.

So till frog hasn't proved that he can perform good at least one season whole season I would never ever give him a pay rise to 3m.
