If I were Spalletti I'd do exactly the same, regardless of how I felt about Ranocchia. Players like to know the manager's got their back and won't throw them to the lions when hard times arrive.

This doesn't mean Spalletti sees something in Ranocchia that the average FIF member fails to see, just means he's good at gaining the trust of his squad.

Genoa are looking to strengthen its defense. The club of coach Juric is interested in Andrea Ranocchia who is on the way out of Inter according to Sky reporter Gianluca Di Marzio.

I kinda like his new role in the team, just need to take a big bite off his 2.4 freaken million salary and give it to Skriniar and we're all good.

His contract expires next summer, so we might extend with a lower salary, or we could just say goodbye.
