learn from this you FIF members who doesnt know shit about football..

One thing is to give a 19 year-old striker a proper chance and another thing is to set your hope on a 35 year-old grandpa.

If everyone is fit that is our best formation and our best players are on the field, Naga or alvaro doesnt really matter, Kuzmanovic or Cambi in the middle both are great but i prefer Esteban and when we player our 3 forwards in alot of matches they played great.

Samuel is the king of three-man defense.

Anyone remembers how he managed make Zago and Zebina to look world class in his Roma Scudetto days?

Strama should bench JZ, and use different formations, otherwise he is finished.
Moratti gave a few more chances but watch him get the boot soon.

INTER GREATS: "THE COACH MUST GO FORWARD WITH MORE COURAGE"

Three questions to the four Inter greats who try to analyze the difficult moment that Stramaccioni's team is going through.

1. Did Moratti do well to confirm the confidence in Stramaccioni?
2. What adjustments must the coach do right now?
3. Is it right that Strama should focus on the new arrivals immediately?

GIUSEPPE BERGOMI

1. "I think that it is right to give the coach confidence because it was the president who wanted him. It is true that other coaches were sacked for much less but this is the choice of Massimo Moratti who did the transfer window on Stramaccioni's requests."

2. "One thing is that he does not need to change formations continuously. Other great coaches usually have one defined system and if he believes in a three-man defense then should not finish matches with four defenders as happened recently.

3. "He must have courage in his choices. Schelotto's situation is not a problem of fitness but he must be used in the right conditions to play his best. At Atalanta, he almost always played in a 4-4-1-1. He had just arrived and debuted in a 3-4-1-2 or 3-5-2 so he was likely to be affected."

SANDRO MAZZOLA

1. "Moratti did well to give confidence to the coach. We must remember that this is the same team that dominated Juventus at their own home a few months ago. Inter have also won pretty much all direct matches (versus Champions League opponents)."

2. "Stramaccioni has tried everything. Before he was forced to change because he could not find the right balance. Now that there are different alternatives on the field, he must focus on one formation and on a smaller group of players. Then there is a lot of work needed on the psychological level too."

3. "Given the poor quality that he had before in the midfield, I think that Stramaccioni is almost forced to play the new players."

FULVIO COLLOVATI

1. "If he believes in the project then it is right to keep going with Stramaccioni. Now, however, the coach must go forward with responsibility. Not only he must get results but needs to show important sighs on the level of play."

2. "Stramaccioni must return to the Strama before one that played the players who deserved to be on the field. Now I see less instinctive almost as if he is trying to please everyone.

3. "New players? The criticism from Moratti on Schelotto was right. The Argentinian should not be out there since he was out of action for some time. Inter did well to invest on young players like Kovacic."

ALDO SERENA

1. "At this point of the season, a change (at the coaching position) would be detrimental. There is no one out there with a magic wand. Stramaccioni is young but so far he has shown important values."

2. "In the mean time, he must have back Diego Milito, a decisive factor for the experience and overall team depth for the coach. Stramaccioni must find cohesion again for all 90 minutes just like the positive period in October."

3. "The new players can provide in-depth reflection. Because one thing is to focus on a player with experience and another thing is to give responsibility to a 18 year-old player like Kovacic."

Now shut the fuck up you fif noobs, The legends have spoken. SHUT THE FUCK UP! :fffuuu:

STRAMA, MAKE A MOVE (OR THREE)

Moratti gives confidence but “must react right away.”
One – Find an precise technical identity and to stabilize the team.
Two – Change formation. Without Samuel, it is better to return to the back four.
Three – Believe in Kovacic. Has a lot of promises, is already a part of future.

STRAMALEONTE
MORATTI INTERVENES

The president presses: less changes in formation, defense of four, Kovacic as starter.
Meeting between the president and the coach who admitted that it was a mistake playing Schelotto from first minute.

I love you GDS, I love you Michael. I fucken love you.

I highly disagree.

And i have to tell that i am kind of shocked you preferred Perreira over Nagatomo.
I don't want to make rash summaries out of only one match but Kusmanovic should be number one selection on CM along with Cambiasso.

---------------------------Handanovic-------------------------
Zanetti--------Juan-----------------------Ranocchia-------Nagatomo
---------------------------Cambiasso----------------------------
----------------------Kuzmanovic-----------------------------------

--------------------------Kovacic----------------------------------
---------------Guarin----------------------------Cassano-----------
---------------------------Palacio----------------------------------

This would be great formation given Strama will probably bench Alvarez as always.

Cambiasso must never get involved in offense. He shouldn't even cross the middle line :D His role in the formation would be focused purely on defense. Anticipating, Tackling, intercepting.....Backing two CBs. Preventing to give open space for opponents outside of the box.
Kuzmanovic's role is crucial in the formation. He should be the bridge between defense and offense. Pass distributor from deep.

I think after all the recent results, and the pressure building up regarding a potential sacking, Strama will change his tact with the team.

Either that or I'm still deluded that he will be great for us.

Fire Strama. Hire someone else for a month. Anyone. Then fire him. Repeat a couple more times until the end of the season and we finish top 3. Leo, Ranieri, Strama all were successful to start out their tenures after coming in as mid season replacements. It's after that initial success that it went downhill. So if we don't keep anyone for more than a month, then we're guaranteed success.

In all seriousness, this. Firing him now makes no sense and wouldn't accomplish anything. However, in the summer, if we've failed to qualify for CL and we are still playing this horrific brand of shit football then I most definitely want to see who else is available. Like we should have done before hiring him full-time.

It's nice that Moratti has learned from his past mistakes and put his faith in Strama, but he doesn't deserve it. I'm all for giving managers support and some time to implement their tactics when there's some sort of evidence to believe they might actually be successful. Not when we hire some nobody off the street. Hopefully for Strama's sake, and everyone else's, we show some serious improvement over the next couple months.

You make a good point Vasilios. I just hope Strama has sat down and reflected on the mistakes we've made and implements them with the signings he supposedly asked for. The next few weeks will tell all.

Though, truthfully they need more time to settle into the ever changing tactics.

well thats how we beat milan last year. concentrate all attacks down the left, and maicon made overlapping runs on the right with all the space afforded to him. We could do the same thing with naga, but I think with strama all his good tactics are coincidental rather than planned

That is true for that match, but overall we had a much more balanced attack last season:

Left: 34%
Middle: 33%
Right: 33%

Attacking only from the left is surely on Strama only. Inexperience is showing these days.

so it's not zanetti getting the ball at the half way line and passing back to ranocchia? or jonathan who tries to dribble a player only to fail miserably and pass it back to ranocchia? or guarin and cassano who constantly drift to the left because they're right footed?

good to know

As a formation in general... Trying to think of the meta not of the moment. (its less painful) And I'm not convinced those 3 will be enough, defensively or offensively. I'm sure kovacic will prove to be useful but benassi need to placed into a more stable system of play.

no, i do agree with that.

the problem is where you really want to play kovacic. he prefers trequartista, but it looks like we're gonna play him as a regista.

Ideally in a 4-2-3-1, you play something like Cambiasso-Regista;Guarin

where the Regista is either Benassi or Kovacic.

But I agree, the two of them dont go well in midfield, you need some better defensive cover. At the same time, you also cant really play guarin and kovacic together with someone like benassi behind
