I think he was actually pretty good vs. Milan. Every touch of his either resulted in an opportunity for us to attack or drew a foul/yellow card. He was silky as fuck and I never saw him try and do something retarted like Guarin always does.

Prefer Guarin's "retardation" to Cassano's laziness. He gives up the ball in dangerous situations time and again and just throws his hand in the air and stands there. I remember Sneijder being crucified for similar behavior. It's okay when he is assisting and making decisive attacking plays, but today I think he ruined more attacks than he contributed to. I have yet to see anything from him that makes me think he's crucial in big games. I would have preferred to see him start from the bench.

I never crucified Sneijder for that because he's the best player on our team. Same with Cassano.

Cassano's a boss, first guy to jump in the scrum and defend Cambiasso from those pussies.

Watch Milan's goal again. If I remember correctly, he lost the ball in midfield.

And also, not so much what he does with the ball is what is the problem. He does no defending whatsoever.

You get same effort/effect out of Cassano for 45 minutes that you get for 90 minutes. We should have him rotating as sub/starter for 60 minutes. Maybe try Alvarez at his place some time, Kovacic as AM, Guarin in midfield.

Yeah, it was on Cassano that Milan's goal. But our defence was also not prepared at all so we can't only blame Cassano (but we can and should blame him for being reckless in that area of the pitch).

He WAS shit yesterday, probably our worst player. But i dont blame the guy, in his condition he shouldn't play more than 60 minutes per match, and yet, he plays 90 minutes every single game.

What can we do? We completely lack numbers in our forward department, and we are ostracising our main winter reinforcement.

Cassano simply has to continue, even Alvarez is completely incapable of taking his role. We have to change our approach and formation completely if we want to rest him, unless we decide to take Rocchi out of the freezer.

We can try with ricky man. We can try sending Kova up the field... He doesnt have to be completely frozen or something, all he needs is to play little less, that's all.

Of course we can try, but Alvarez doesn't have that creativity Cassano has, that I'm certain, especially in closed space against tight defence. That said, Alvarez might be able to do well if there are two wingers supporting him (which we don't have), but if it's in a 4-3-1-2 (Guarin-Alvarez-Palacio), then it probably wouldn't work too well for Alvarez.

Kovacic is also worth a try, his creativity is probably higher than Alvarez, so he would have a higher probability in successfully replacing Cassano than Alvarez. Though I'd prefer Kovacic to stick to a deeper role as of now.

But if Kuzmanovic is playing in his role, then I guess we can push up Kovacic. Though I'm slightly worried about our defense, as the last time they were both on the field wasn't very pretty. Would probably have to bench Cambiasso and start Gargano for that to work.

His agent got us Kovacic. Maybe this was a deal between him and management as remuneration ;)

Until Kovacic doesn't something big like help us win the Europe league or score a hattrick on Juve this point is moot. Kid is a promising youngster that "other teams" wanted but no one else bid on.

IIRC ManUtd also enquired about him (year ago) but he was not ready yet at that time to make a move.

I hope this renewal news is bullshit.

I'd rather let him walk next summer for free than extend him til 2016 at 3mil per.

Only at Inter Management do you see them making same mistakes over and over and if we qualify for champions league you will see the management say: "see the team is strong we don't need any reinforcements" then see Chivu and Stanko get new contracts. Same mistakes over and over. The Marijuana the management is smoking to make them this delusional is insane. Cassano is good player but he can't play every game full 90 mins due to health problems why not just give him 1 year extension At most, while looking for a younger and good attacking midfielder to replace him as he can't play at such a high tempo in the long run. Its just I think the obvious thing to do.

I know he's interista..

Its a big face palm.

If it lowers his wages wouldn't be the worst thing but I rather we sell him in the summer

Still is our most important player this season.
Are you people really surprised, after the extension of Deki's contract?
Not that I am defending this move... but this is the new Inter.
