I'm just saying, the best Higuain is not far from the best Icardi.

We don't know what the best Icardi is yet. Higuain is a very, very good goalscorer but proven choker. We don't know if Icardi is a choker or not yet.

Icardi's game against Lazio at the end of last season and his stepping up and taking Panenkas in absolute cold blood leave very little room for him to be a choker.

Cassano: 'Inter will win Serie A'

Antonio Cassano claims Inter will pip Juventus to the Scudetto this season and reveals he has completed his sporting-director course.

Juve have won the last eight Serie A titles and currently lead Inter by a point, going into the 13th round of fixtures this weekend.

However, Cassano told La Repubblica when asked for his favourite: “Inter.

“They remind me of Juventus in their first year with Conte. I was at Milan and we lost the Scudetto to them.

“If Juve drop some points on the road and Inter keep threatening, Conte will pull off [the title].

“Of course, Juve are good enough for the Scudetto. The current Juve have two teams and remain the strongest and most complete [in Italy].

“However, you can see from a mile away that they are programmed to aim for the Champions League.”

The former Nerazzurri attacker retired from football last year and has been studying to become a sporting director.

“I’ve just finished it. The best I’ve heard from is Walter Sabatini, who is the most competent.

“If there was someone with his competence and the calmness of Ausilio, he would be the ideal sporting director.”

Cassano: 'Inter better than Juventus'

Antonio Cassano has let loose with his caustic opinions on Juventus, Maurizio Sarri, Romelu Lukaku, the Champions League and why “Inter will win the Scudetto.”

FantAntonio has never been one to hold back and following his retirement is becoming a sought-after pundit on Italian television, although he did recently get his certificate to qualify as a director of sport.

“I’ve been saying since the end of August that Inter will win the Scudetto,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Antonio Conte is a coach who by himself brings you an extra 15-20 points, he’s world class and lights the fire within his players.

“I’ll admit, though, I didn’t think Lukaku would do so well in Serie A straight away. He works for the team and already speaks Italian after two months.

“Lautaro Martinez is a great striker and we’ll be talking about him for at least the next 10 years. As for Sebastiano Esposito, you can see he has that fire inside him and determination to do well. Not everyone can play with such confidence at San Siro aged 17. He’s fortunate to have Conte as a coach, because it’s the best environment to mature.

“I give credit to (Inter director Piero) Ausilio for signing the players who were suited to Conte’s football.”

Another reason why Cassano tips Inter for the Serie A title is his irritation with Sarri and Juventus director of sport Fabio Paratici.

“Sarri did some good things in recent years, but before that he was always in Serie B or C. I consider him nothing more than a normal coach.

Juve today have an extra 10 points thanks to Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain, both players who they tried desperately to sell over the summer. If the sales had gone through, the Bianconeri wouldn’t be up there with Inter today.

“The trouble with Juve is that they don’t really want to play good football, they just want to win, and I don’t know if Sarri is capable of that.”

After eight consecutive Serie A titles, Juventus are turning their focus back on to the Champions League.

“There are five or six sides in the Champions League who are stronger than Juventus this season, for example Real Madrid and Manchester City,” added Cassano.

“I have major doubts they’re going to be able to do that.”

Antonio Cassano spoke of his time at Real Madrid and specifically, of his physical change that the Italian attributes to gifts from a sponsor of the white team.

"In Madrid, immediately after arriving I lost 12 kilos, then Cannavaro arrived and I gained them again," Cassano began on Bobo TV, adding that "at Real Madrid, Nutella was one of the sponsors and every month they gave us five kilos of the product ”.

A gift that ended up being his undoing when he got into a fight with Capello. “When Capello arrived, I scored two goals in two games and I felt like the king of the world. He replaced me in the first half against Lyon, I fought with him in Jerez and he took me out of the team. In seven months I gained 14 kilos, I ate Nutella straight from the boat and I didn't care. It was disgusting, ”said Cassano

Cassano: ‘Ridiculous Inter in UCL’

“If we had been in the Champions League right now, I think we could’ve had our say in that tournament,” Conte said after Sunday’s victory, but Cassano thinks otherwise.

“Did Conte understand he is not Guardiola? Have his say in the Champions League? Come on. I am not dumb. Serie A is mediocre, Europe is something else. Inter are not dominating,” he told Bobo TV on Twitch.

“They’ve been playing differently with Eriksen, they seem more solid, but they don’t play great football. Atalanta do.

Inter sit deep and wait for their opponents’ move, then they try to reach Lukaku with long balls.

Inter must win the title. They are going to win it. But they don’t play well.

“If Conte made serious mistakes, it’s only his fault. Inter were ridiculous in Champions League. They finished behind Shakhtar.”

100% agree with Antonio :proud:

I agree with Fantantonio about our performance in Europe. It was a massive failure. But saying Inter don't play well is bullshit. Out of the 3 Scudetto contenders Inter are playing the best football. Does Cassano seriously believe Juve or Milan playing better than Inter? I don't think so. Then again Cassano also considers Kessie better than Barella so you never know.

We play the best football in Serie A and leading the pack. Shut your mouth Cassano.

And, it wouldn't even matter if we didn't play nice football. Winning is all what matters (we are doing that too).

Wtf is he smoking. We are dominating every opponent, most shots on target, best defense, top scorers in the table, Lukaku median scoring is better than Giuseppe Meazza for fucks sake. Ofcourse we failed in CL, but in Serie A we are REAL DEAL

Apart from the latest streak, Inter indeed does not play good football and is not in total control of the games that stats seemingly suggest. We've been luckier than usual as we do not concede easy goals, but that's mostly due to our defensive trio clicking and the whole system dropping deeper to stop allowing all these easy chances. We're also lucky that our striker hit form lately, but if they get a slump again, we'll have a hard time once more as when we take risks, we're exposed a la autumn 2020.

That does not mean Milan or Juventus or even Roma do. No one plays 'good football' this year. Not even Atalanta that he mentioned, who indeed would count as the best football playing team, but their lack of quality remains. Fuck "good football" anyway.

Maybe Cassano feels the need to be Wanda now that she’s gone.

Either way, I’m getting tired of his bullshit.

He said "great", not "well", there is quite a difference. He might have refererred to games in Europe where we couldn`t score 1 goal against opposition, which is clearly the limitation of Conte.
In Italy we defend and hit on the counter, which does not work against teams who park their bus and wait for us.

In Italy and not only, Atalanta have been playing great for a much longer period, they have been consistently increasing their game. The real test will be on Monday :pazzini:

Can`t believe some of you guys take out your frustrations on Cassano, uno di noi

Cassano: 'Juventus don't have Euro status'

Antonio Cassano suggests it is ‘madness’ to doubt Cristiano Ronaldo, but Juventus ‘don’t have the status of the big European clubs’ in the Champions League.

The former Inter, Milan, Roma and Real Madrid striker spoke on Christian Vieri’s video podcast to discuss Juve’s Champions League exit at the hands of Porto.

“I am amused seeing certain people are doubting Cristiano Ronaldo, who won five editions of the Ballon d’Or, five Champions League trophies and scored more goals in that tournament than anyone else in history,” said Cassano.

“Ronaldo and Juventus are two different things here. Ronaldo is the King of the Champions League. Juve has failed for 26 years.

“It’s not because of Zidane, Ronaldo, Higuain or whoever has gone through. Juventus don’t have the status of the big European clubs, like Bayern Munich, Liverpool, even Milan.

“Juve will always win in Italy, because they have the economic strength, they have that style of football that is suited to winning 1-0 and having the title sealed up by February, but in Europe they always fail.

“We’ve even reached the point where we are doubting Ronaldo. It’s madness. Madness. The club signed Ronaldo, it could sign Messi, Maradona, the best in history, but if you don’t surround them with players of great character and a global status, you can wait another 26 years.

“Out of these players, aside from Gigi Buffon and Ronaldo, who in that squad has won the Champions League or World Cup? Nobody!”

Lucio, Materazzi, Motta, Eto and - of course - Mourinho.

Oh, and Vieira played in the first half of the season. :D
