If you keep Spaletti, you lose Icardi. Yes,professionals can coexist with each other even without being best friends but for positive and healthy group environment, you can't leave those two together next season. And Icardi alternatives like Dzeko just drive me mad. Yes,Mauro is a prick, but fuck Dzeko or Lukaku as alternatives.

What makes you believe Icardi will stay if Spalletti leaves?

Im not a big fan of getting Conte. Not because I have a strong opinion on his jube past or whatever. But mere practical stuff. Spalletti's golden handshake ~25mil can be used to buy a player. Apart from that, what is Conte really going to add that Spalletti can't at the moment?

Aside from that: Stability! That's something we have been missing and we finally seem to have a coach for 2 years (which is hopefully resulting in another CL year).

If he has to go, sure. But I'm not keen on the idea since Conte doesn't (on the surface) seem to add more, and Spalletti out will cost us and for the umpteenth we will switch coaches..

Quite excessive salary demand. IMO Inter is not yet at that level where we could pay 10m€ to the coach. We aren't paying even 6-7m€ to our top striker.

Mourinho seems to be very eager to rejoin and it might not be bad for us. I think his tactic suits Italian league and most importantly Inter. No matter which coach we sign, we will definitely need to sign 4/5 quality players. I think Mourinho would be a good choice. He might have not done well since some seasons (?) but I do think that Inter would be perfect for him and vice-versa.

On top of that, Mourinho is in a stage of his career, where he needs to prove his worth again and that might help for the good of Inter as well. He is familiar with the club and can even have Cambiasso as his assistant coach (Matrix might have a role as well) - these players know the worth of our colours. Just a thought.

Since, this is a Conte thread, I have to post something about him huh - Well, not fond of him for various reasons.

Biasin: “Inter & Conte Have Verbal Agreement”

Journalist Fabrizio Biasin has claimed that Inter and Antonio Conte already have an agreement with one another for the former Italian national team manager to become the new manager at the Nerazzurri.

“Inter and Conte are rapidly approaching one another. The former coach and Marotta talked again. There is a verbal agreement which, subject to surprises, will become “official” when the season ends,” Biasin wrote in his weekly editorial piece for TuttoMercatoWeb.

Biasin also addressed the media speculation that Gabriele ‘Lele’ Oriali could return to the Nerazzurri as part of his piece.

“With Conte’s arrival, Lele Oriali could also return as the two were magnificent together for Italy.”

Biasin then went on to conclude by discussing PSV Eindhoven winger Steven Bergwijn who has drawn strong links to Inter in recent weeks and months.

“Inter are at work for 21-year-old Dutch international Bergwijn. He is destined to take the place of Perisic at Inter.”

well, at least we get oriali back. i've been saying for a while we need a team manager like him again. if it's him, it's even better.

he's the kind of guy who actually understands about football, genuinely loves Inter and it's the perfect "bridge" between the team and the management. he's respected by everyone thanks to his past as a player in general and as an important Inter player: 2 serie A titles, 2 coppa italia, world champion in 1982, 277 caps with Inter and including the "primavera" years he wore our shirt from 1966 to 1983.

with someone like him, maybe things with icardi would not have gone south.

on a side note, if anyone is interested, the italian singer ligabue (Inter supporter. he used to be "big,", he's still quite popular) wrote "una vita da mediano" in which oriali is considered a metaphor of life.

(lyrics + english translation: https://lyricstranslate.com/en/Una-Vita-Da-Mediano-Una-Vita-Da-Mediano.html )

That team manager thing is a brilliant idea and definitely should be introduced. Orialia might be just the right character for the role.

I don't want Conte at the club.

Its not just coz of his Rube past (though that plays a big part) but also he is a very divisive person. He left Juve and Chelsea after breaking down all his relationships with management (including a court case!) and his handling of the Costa incident suggests his maturity level is even below Mancini's. On top of that, his style is quite the opposite of what Spalletti is trying to create, not just the 3 man defence but moving away from a possession based style that we are trying to build in the last 12 months. So it will be another year zero. Plus he is infected with a serious condition of Rubentitis and has a very punchable face.

I hope these rumours are not true. I don't want Inter to waste 25m to get rid of Spalletti unless its a world class coach replacing him. Conte is not world class.

firing Spallo and hiring Conte would cost us 60mil i read in the papers...I want to kick the people in our mgmt for this retarded move,if it happens, and then they cry FFP to us to hide their moronic nature...fuck Marmotta...so what if he doesn't like Spalletti...we can't spend money like this...if Spallo delivers 3rd spot he is on target...can Conte make a step forward...maybe,if we invest money in the squad also,on serious good names!

Conte demands 10m€ net for 3 years. That's just negotiation tactic. No club will pay him that. There are no clubs which could afford that which would be also interested in signing Conte.

Agree with everything except world class part, just because he wouldn't suit us right now with his formation and character doesn't mean he isn't one of the best coaches out there. Results of the clubs he managed proves that.

Conte has two requests before he takes over at Inter

Antonio Conte could be on his way to Inter this summer, after having not worked since he was sacked by Chelsea last year. However, the former Juve coach has written up a set of demands that need to be met before he will commit his future to a club.

To date, on balance, only Inter (and Juventus) seem ready to meet the requests of the Salento coach.

The basic request is about 12 million euros a year (10 million pounds) from which one can go down but not too much. The 10 million that Inter is ready to guarantee him seems crazy, but Marotta for Conte (and only for him) is ready to make an exception to the rules because he believes he can be the right coach to win immediately.

Conte's second request does not necessarily include access to the next Champions League or to the next European competitions in general. Conte wants a winning project immediately and at least for three years. A long-term strategy that he did not find at Chelsea and that he wants for his and the club's growth he will choose over the next few years.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, at least for now, both Rome and Milan are the other two interested. Juventus remains in the background and the reason lies mainly in the will of Massimiliano Allegri. Indeed, it will be the current Juventus coach who decides whether or not to interrupt his relationship with Juventus and, in this case, Conte would be back in vogue.

I think the probably of Conte joining Roma and Mourinho going to Inter is higher than the other way around.

You would think that would make more sense, but in reality it's the other way around unfortunately.

Maybe Marotta is looking wich way we can challenge Juventus faster and maybe he think our current team suits better to Conte than Mou?

Maybe he is planning with Godin comin to swith 3 at back with Skrino-Godin-De Vrij. Subs Rano, Bastoni, Gravillon, Dumbo ->no cost

Conte know Asamoah from Juve days and Candreva from Italy national team. Maybe he can use Dalbert or Perisic for LWB, or sell both? Im not sure Dumbo can play RWB, but maybe he can cover Candreva or go for new RWB?

We know our midfield players would suit more 3 midfield line and maybe Conte would get more out of Radja-Brozo-Gags midfield than Spallo? Then try to sell couple of Mario, Vecino, Valero and bring one or two new ones.

Icardi maybe leaving, but if he stays I think he and Lautaro would fit his 3-5-2 system. If Icardi is sold buy new CF. Lautaro in lonely striker dont convince me that much.

Then we dont have to waste money to get costly wingers and we dont have to buy Politano and Keita for 50-60m who are average players and use that money to get new RWB and CM and new CF if Icardi leaves?

Conte is just another Lippi...know your history so you don't repeat it.

His stats might be alluring to some, but he is juventino. Bleeds that black & white shit....

If we make it to CL I'd like us to keep Spalletti specially with those reported fees. But if the choice is between Mou and Conte I'd prefer Conte.

Mou was great and I'm grateful for what he did for Inter but he's seriously lost it in the last couple of years and until he proves he can get his shit together I wouldn't take him back.

Taking Mou back just because what he did is idiotic. I'm also grateful to the 2010 team but that doesn't mean hiring the same exact team would give us a similar result.

Let's keep past in the past.

Do you guys really think hiring Conte would gave us trophy on first season? If you think top 3 for him is realistic target, then what makes him difference with the coach we currently have...
Conte might not gonna survive full season anyway. This could be Gasperini 2.0.
This had to stop.
