Question. How often have pure wingers outside of Caudrado played as wingbacks under Conte? Plus, I'm sure Cuadrado had at least played their in the past during his time at Fiorentina

Cuadrado was a RB in Colombia and at Udinese then the team they loaned him to before he went to Fiorentina. Cuadrado is real bad defensively tho

Let’s say that’s the starting midfield and if gagliardini and vecino stay we still won’t win shit. Even if we get SMS or Rakitic. We need vecino out and at least two good midfielders.

My biggest fear with conte is that’ll will get more vecinos. And Nainggolan is never gonna play like he did at Roma.

We're not really going to be winning this season either way. That squad + signing SMS (I'm not sure why people keep bringing him up we're not linked with him) + you want another midfielder? We'd be spending 300m to make that happen.

The only thing we can realistically win next season is a Coppa Italia and that should've been possible even with out current squad.

I love how butthurt Juve fans are about this

Over 3,000 Juventus fans have signed a petition asking for Antonio Conte’s star to be removed from the club’s stadium.

The user ‘Buddy Guy Black & White’ created the Change.org page in response to Conte’s imminent appointment at Inter, who are traditionally Juve’s closest rivals.

“Antonio Conte was a beloved captain, who also played with his heart,” it read.

“Then he became our Coach and won us an unexpected Scudetto without a top squad after Calciopoli and seventh places.

“That could be compared, I think, to winning a Champions League, precisely because of the historical importance attached to it... then he left for reasons that are probably not entirely clear, two days before the start of the season.

“Not a nice thing but, so far, it still falls into logic... What will be, as far as I’m concerned, an indelible divide with Conte is his landing at Inter...

“We know Coaches, as well as players and directors, are professionals, who have every right to make professional choices that go beyond ‘belonging’.

“If Mou came to Juve, he would’ve done nothing wrong to Inter, just as if Sarri did or Capello to Roma in the past, because things that are said during the course of a season all add up in dialectical clashes dictated by the moment, from situations on the field...

“In the case of Conte at Inter, I think it’s something very different. He’s not just a former Juventus player or a professional going to a rival team. Many have done that in the past...

“Here we have a person going to a club where, internally, even today, there are individuals like Zanetti or [Pirelli chief Marco] Tronchetti Provera, to pick two names at random, who have never hid their opinions about Juventus, who stole Scudetti from the same Juventus that Conte played for and was a protagonist for.

“Going to Inter isn’t a professional choice for Conte. A professional choice would be to go to Napoli, Roma, Milan...

“Going to Inter means joining a club who have tried, luckily without succeeding, through several more or less clear channels, to destroy us and throw dirt on the history of which Conte was undoubtedly the protagonist...

“Going to Inter isn’t a professional choice. Going to Inter will mean trampling on one’s dignity first...

“As far as I'm concerned, the star at the stadium represents what being a ‘juventino’ is about and not just the past...

“In making this jump, Conte no longer represents the ‘juventino’ spirit and values that embody the other stars.

“[Zibi] Boniek wasn’t given one for the same reason, and he was more worthy of it than Conte right now.”

The 49-year-old played 400 times for the Bianconeri as a player, winning five Scudetti and a Champions League.

He later led the Old Lady to three Scudetti as a Coach, prior to stepping down in 2014.

HERE HE IS!

  • Conte: “I will explain why I chose Inter.”
  • “Not for everyone” is the new slogan of Inter, launching this summer.
  • Conte: “I was struck by the clarify of this club, its history and the desire to bring this club to where it deserves.”
  • Zhang: “He is one of the best coaches in the world and will help us bringing this club back among the best in the world.”

“WITH YOU ON TOP OF THE WORLD.”

  • Zhang celebrates: “He is the top coach.” Conte: “I will bring this club back to where it deserves.”
  • Announcement for the new coach is coming chosen, chosen by Chinese ownership to widen Suning’s horizons.
  • And tomorrow, Conte will meet Zhang senior in Madrid.

Not for everyone because Antonio Conte is not just anyone: he is worthy of this club, of Inter. And today, he will shout this particular message to every Inter fan in the world, to half of the planet, assuming the other half does not care about football. The announcement, the interviews, the social media content, the interaction with Steven Zhang shot in Inter studios, the feeling with Giuseppe Marotta and also today’s (Thursday) trip to Madrid to attend the Champions League final Saturday night at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium: everything will be seen. Conte has already taken over Inter, without stepping on the training pitch even for one minute. He has an international curriculum and so he does not have to.

Conte is Inter coach… no, he is much more than that: he is the cover man that Suning has chosen to widen horizons as much as possible, to place its brand and most importantly that of Inter in a prominent place. And Zhang Jindong’s arrival in Madrid Saturday night is an indication of it considering that since Suning arrived, it has always been the new arrivals (coaches, directors) that go to Nanjing to see the Suning boss. This time, the opposite happens. The announcement of Conte today will be accompanied by some statements of the same coach and Steven Zhang.

Here are the preview of it. First, Inter president takes some time to bid farewell to Spalletti: “I want to thank him for the path that we have taken together over these two years.” And then he welcomes Conte: “I am certain that he is one of the best coaches that exists. I am sure that he will help us achieve our objective which has always been the same: to bring this club back among the best in the world.” In one word: winning.

Former national team and current Inter coach then confesses: “A new chapter in my life has begun, I am enthusiastic. I will try with hard work to return all the trust that the president and club executives have placed in me. I chose Inter for its overall management, for the seriousness and ambition of the project. And also for its history. I was struck by the clarify of this club and the desire to bring Inter back where it deserves.”

Conte and Zhang, in addition to the content that can be seen throughout Inter media channels (later on Friday), have also done an interview with the BBC that will air Friday afternoon and will be relaunched on other continents such as CCTV in China, ESPN in the US and Bein Sports: it is not hard to read Zhang’s desire to take advantage of Conte’s international image, to get the club out of Italian borders as much as possible, and not just through the results in the Champions League.

Conte is the investment that goes further. He is a runaway train that Suning has decided to exploit to win off the pitch as well, flying decidedly higher than the controversy due to the coach’s past. Image counts and who says the opposite does not know about today’s football. If this weren’t the case, Inter would not have accelerated the conclusion of this negotiation with related announcements to close everything on Friday: the idea is to take advantage of the Champions League final to “sell” the image of Conte sitting next to Zhang and the entire Inter leadership.

Looking at the pictures, you will not miss one thing in particular: the slogan of “not for everyone.” It is not a phase thrown away for the occasion but it is the claim, the message that will accompany Inter of the future. From now on, the club’s initiatives will have these three words in mind: the idea is to make it a recognizable phase for all, a bit like how Nike has managed with their “Just do it.” An ambitious goal but in the end the entire club has decided to step up big time. We are one day away from June, one day away from another Inter. It is the foundation of the castle which will also be embellished with the transfer market and time. But with Conte, Inter have decided to sit at the table of a starred restaurant. And it is not for everyone.

Why this thread is still here?
That handshake with Zhang and Inter logo in the background is not official enough?

I like the publicity.

I am scared of Inter's over-publicity, ever since the Gabriel Barbosa saga but of course, this time it is a bit different. One was a raw purchase and this has good experience under his belt. I hope it will work out and really hope he proves my initial verdict wrong.
