I think this discussion happened last season too, that explains why Conte almost quit in 2020. That meeting with management last year, Conte pretty much used the quit threat to ensure that no star is sold.

Thank you for the Scudetto, mister.

You should see the doctor, this is a sign of alzheimer.

The meeting was just him lashing out on the management for 'not protecting him in the press', 'expecting him to win the scudetto' and not signing Vidal.

What star was going to be sold when we just signed one of the most expensive WB in the history??

I think you're forgetting that after that meeting our transfer plans changed dramatically. We were linked with and by all accounts had secured deals for promising young players like kumbulla and tonali and ended up with kolarov and vidal. Vidal might have happened anyway, but that meeting they were clearly told costs were being cut etc. Maybe check the alzeimers for yourself.

what is this logic?

so you’re saying the management had a deal in place for Kumbulla and Tonali, everything was fine, we had also signed Hakimi. Then Conte threw tantrums and forced a meeting. Then after the meeting, we signed Vidal, abandoned Tonali and somehow Conte was happy again.

and it was on the management? How?

You seriously read that, typed that out, and didn't understand what happened?

We had deals in place. Then stevie z returned and pulled the plug and said we can't afford any signings. Then conte lost the plot leading to the meeting. Out of the meeting meant that he wasn't expected to win the scudetto because we can't reinforce like expected.

Also, don't think conte was ever happy again after that. As he said many times, the project changed that August.

you seriously think Conte, out of all people, would freak out because we missed out on fucking Tonali? Like he never had history of behaving that way to begin with. Give me a break.

His first outbreak was right after Atalanta, we just finished 2nd, on track to sign Hakimi (or had signed, not sure). Then he went to the press and complained that we didnt protect him enough. I will leave you with spinning this fact on the management.

Ofcourse we had to cut costs at some point. But lets not pretend it was the cause of his hideous, repeated behaviors.

Yeah because conte doesn't want young players like bastoni, barella, lautaro, hakimi etc. Such a tired narrative. To get vidal we also had to get rid of Godin which in sure he was delighted with.

We signed hakimi in March apparently, then as said above, the project totally changed come August.

I don't know how you can look at all the evidence since that meeting and not see what was happening. Baffling really.

Strawman, Conte can work with youth, nobody denies that, but he never specifically request a young player. Again, he freaked out because we missed out on Tonali? Give me a fucking break mate.

Well that's bullshit because he wanted hakimi, so he has specifically requested a young player.

I'm not saying he freaked out because we didn't sign tonali. I'm saying he freaked out because the project changed. We were linked with two very bright young players and all of a sudden ditched them for free transfers.

I remember this very specifically, we had an agreement for Tonali until the very end, and long after the meeting. At the time, there were overwhelming reports that said it's Conte who was against to move, you can dig up the posts last year if you want. I won't be surprised if you were among those who trashed Conte at the time. Conte later said that he had no problems with Tonali. No problems, and that's about it.

Hakimi's age is irrelevant, he was among the best in his position already. Requesting Hakimi is like requesting Mbappe or Halaand, their ages are just the bonus.

What, you said he never requests a young player and now age is irrelevant?? Lmao
Again, conte is the one who didn't let basto go on loan, but that doesn't suit the narrative.

After that August meeting conte was blamed for everything. But it's now become apparent Suning were broke as fuck and as mentioned, changed the project. None of us here realised how fucked Suning were until the sale rumours appeared at the turn of the year.

Did we miss out on anyone significant?

Did we try to sell anyone significant? (Other than Lautaro, whom the management held firm that Barca needed to pay his release clause through out the mercato)

Everyone with a few braincells knew we're broke, that was reported all over the media you simple couldnt miss. But it was no reasons for his behaviors which rooted way before. REPEATED behaviors.

He were so good with youth that he wanted Hakimi on one wing and pushed out Dimarco on another, to stick with Young. Lmao. He also liked Bastoni so much he had to sign Kolarov as backup, lmao.
I should have made clear that by young players, I mean promising players who aren't good enough yet. Conte doesnt want this type of players, he doesnt care about age nor developing players, if they're good enough, they're old ennough.

If barca hadn't have had their financial difficulties lautaro was as good as gone.

No we didn't. We first became aware of how broke we were when the sale rumours appeared. At first Suning said they were going to sue the newspaper who released it as well, then it all eventually broke out. But after the August meeting the narrative was "boo conte wants his old players and not these young players", which again was bullshit. We were just broke and has been said many times now by many people, the project changed last summer. Suning pulled the plug on the project

So you're moving the goalposts on the young players argument because you know its bullshit.
Imagine conte wanting a back up, how fucking crazy!! And having bastoni as undisputed starter. I don't know why you thought bringing that up helped your argument.

We downgraded, but I don't think the situation warranted him rage quitting. He just wants things 100% going his way and doesn't want to compromise.

Which is fine, but he doesn't want a challenge as he claims he does. He wants the opposite, which are guarantees.

Biasin had a good point saying, you dont always have to pay 100€ to eat good, as you can also eat good with 90€ and pretty much called Conte a pussy for not wanting a challenge.

This Cunt might got o Arsenal with the transfer window closed + 0 money + 0 good players + 0 points after 3 games and -10 goals with 0 scored

yet he left us because he was going to lose Hakimi and 1 of Lautaro or Lukaku !!!

this guy at this point just is working to get contract terminations to not work and collect 10 million after a season or 2 of work…

more power to him. Wish that could be me
