I don't really post much but I'll add my data point:
March 2020, I had been at my company for about 1 year, after they hired me out of university. I enjoyed my team, the work, our office just got renovated, things were good. Pay wasn't spectacular, but if I budgeted correctly I could live decent. Covid shuts everything down and we work from home like normal. 1 month later, mid April we get news that there are gonna be 10% pay-cuts, 401k matching is cancelled, no raises for the year, and my boss (who my team loved) was getting "laid off" (Fired).
I started looking for new jobs and a few months later I got a new one paying double what I was getting pre-covid before, this was a much more financially sound company that didn't feel the impact of Covid. Despite my old company taking me in when I knew nothing, we don't owe each other anything, few of my teammates also left.
As much as I would've wanted the players to agree to pay cuts and Conte to stay and deal with the worse conditions following into next season... I can't blame him or anyone else that wants to leave. Life is short, you gotta look out for yourself. Loyalty is limited to loved ones. Conte has done a phenomenal job in the 2 years he was here. LGI for me.
