If you watch the Southampton v. Tottenham game from the 73rd minute, you can make the following observations:

-Perisic scores in the 73rd minute and restart commences at 75.

- The Walcott goal goal at 76th minute, which was after some pressure was applied by Southampton, resulted in a save from goalkeeper and corner. The corner is recycled, and ball is crossed into the box, 3 defenders one one player- Mara, who heads in into the centre of the penalty box and Walcott reaches the ball and goal;

- Tottenham was defending really deep. Son and Kane were literally a couple yards from their own penalty box trying to beat Southampton’s press. At the 83rd minute, Romero was literally trying to clear the ball with 2 Southampton players charging him at the edge of his box;

- Conte doesn’t make his final subs until the 85th minute (lol lol 😂);

- Southampton’s Soulemana receives a yellow card for challenge on Emerson Nothing relevant here but just mentioning it because had fire in his eyes.

- 89th minute, Southampton corner, failed clearance by Sarr, one of Conte´s subs (made at 85the minute);

Conte’s set up and late subs
The Tottenham players were not slacking as Conte makes it out. They were all defending, including the strikers.

It is more fair to say that Tottenham paid for defending too deep, and Conte making uninspired, defensive, and late substitutions (Emerson and Sarr for Kulusevski and Porro).

You could say that, but he's not responsible for the entire organization. And new players come to find old players who tend to set the pace.

These players don't care man. I've been around them for years. The type of player that goes to the PL is one who doesn't like pressure, just like Conte described not yesterday but when he first moved to Chelsea. He knows how it is, he shouldn't be pretending that Tottenham can become a serious club overnight just because they recently had a few good runs.

It's all about money, lack of pressure (by fans and media) to perform consistently, relatively plain training sessions that are focused on fitness levels and chilling in London as a relatively rich person in your 20s and early 30s. You don't move to the PL because you're ambitious, you're moving because it's a fast track to settling in a good lifestyle.
Then there's those from the outside who hear about this magical place where most players are happy to be at and still earn a lot of money, where it's acceptable to not only go out on nights you lost, but even take a private fucking jet and have fun in another city on a nights you lost.
It's a good life for players. Until they meet someone like Mourinho, Ferguson, Conte, van Gaal, Guardiola, Tuchel etc and don't like their rules.

You cannot drill these type of players if you don't have the full backing of the team as well. Make them feel expendable. Because they don't feel that. There's always another PL team to snatch them if they leave one.
There's a reason why Manchester City with a strict coach has managed to remain consistent to a large degree.
There's a reason why Chelsea, despite having an owner who was appeared scary to most people due to his background but didn't really care much about the way things worked and left it to the manager and a few other people, rarely had any consistency after the first guard under Mourinho left the club.
There's a reason why Manchester United after Alex Ferguson has become a shithole.

You cannot go to Tottenham and drill the players. They don't understand it, they don't appreciate it, they don't like it and it goes against their fundamental reasons for being there in the first place. It's an easy way to be at a high level without necessarily having to be high level yourself. That's PL in a nutshell.

Conte expressing this is just his way out. He knows these things. Everyone does. There's a reason why few important coaches touch the Arsenal job. Tottenham sounds like a nice project for them because in theory there's potential, but there's a reason why it cannot work out for most.

The mentality in the Premier League is nothing like the rest of Europe. And coaches that want to win something are typically incompatible to that environment.

Well, wasn't Conte brought in to make players into champions, to instill in them the desire and hunger to win, to do what he did when he was at Inter. Isn't Conte a winner who turns a team of losers into winners? I don't follow Tottenham too much, but didn't Conte decided to stay there after last season if all the conditions to achieve success are provided for him, did he get the type of players he wanted and was that delivered to him by the club? If it is and the results are like this, then Conte has not done the job he was brought in for.

That Conte rant will end up in the presser hall of fame, right next to Gattuso's "sometimes maybe good sometimes maybe shit" and Trapattoni's "Strunz" :lol:

His salentino accent coming out so strongly while he attempts to lambast everyone currently at the club, while also throwing jabs at Spurs' history, is pure, unfiltered, comedy gold :lol: :lol: :lol:

They're a loser club, though. And not just under Conte, or in the last 5 years, but kinda throughout their history... Its like taking over Juve and asking why you lost a CL final - because you're a loser club

Malesani is definietly in the top 3, Gattuso's wasn't as good.

hahaha it's funny because this applies to any time someone tries to express himself in another language when angry to the media

To be fair there's value in some of them. Romero, kulu, bentacur have been quite popular afaik?

Romero defender of the year when they got him.

The other two have certainly been more hits and they were 100% rejects. Although I believe Kulu has been piss lately for them as well now so he's maybe more eon the balance but he certainly started amazingly

Not done yet but that seems to be what's gonna happen.

About those players signed during Conte time. Kulusevksi and Bentancur have been worth the money. Romero has been good to okay I guess? But he cost a ton and he's a fucking disaster time to time. IMO not worth the money paid.

Good thing we got La Liga rejects like Sneijder, Samuel and Cambiasso, otherwise we would've never won a trippletta.

What is wrong with rejects? If they are quality, they have something to prove.

Do you want another fiasco of Lukaku return in the managing role?! Ofc I don't want him back! He's mental. He's a crybaby. He demands many reinforcements just "maybe" he wins a Scudetto by playing like shit and then get totally embarrassed in the CL so we get fucked even more financially.

If the club seriously think about getting him back, then just like how I said in the Alexis Sanchez thread they keep on doing mistakes one after another.
