By saying this, Inter have no leverage in potential negotiations... so he wanted to make sure he can walk for free (just like when he joined, remember?).
Fellow Chile player Mauricio Isla is already at Flamengo with other bigger names, so he sure seems to have picked his destination.

There won't be any negotiations. No team is paying money for him, and he has no interest in walking away for free from his crazy wages here. Inter supposedly have a clause where they can terminate his contract and pay half his salary and that's almost certainly what's going to happen.

I can not help but wonder why it feels like those with ties to Juventus, whether they be former Captains, coaches and players, always seem to act in such a distasteful manner. I do not think it is coincidental.

Indeed, unfortunately this might be the case if we cannot [free] transfer him before next season starts:

Vidal’s wages are set to rise to €9.5 million net for the season if he were to stay at the club, while Sanchez’s would stay at €7 million net.

During the summer transfer window, however, the Nerazzurri will likely exercise their options to terminate both players’ deals as they move on to replacements ahead of next season.

In Vidal’s case, the club can pay the 34-year-old €4 million in order to not trigger the clause which automatically extends his deal until the end of June 2023.

Why did our club agree to such a ridiculous contract!?

If he didn’t play for my football club, I’d honestly find him hilarious

awww c'mon man let us mid 30s dudes act the fool, we still young at heart my man!

He crashed his brand new Ferrari during a Copa America. Didn't arrest him or do anything to him. He got to play the next game. He just the best player of his generation and got away with Murder for both clubs and country.

I really wish we had gotten him instead of Guarin and had him in his prime. His wages are insane but he potentially won us 2 league titles in a row.
