Hi, United fan here.

I find this transfer surprising. Young had been linked to the MLS over the last couple of years so to see him go to Inter is a surprise.

Given our thread bare squad I wouldn't have minded him staying. Fitness wise he puts a lot of our younger players to shame. Inter will get a player who has a great fitness record, gives his all and puts in a shift.

However, and I've not watched Inter. or know about any possible full back injuries, but I'm not sure what he will exactly give you from a technical perspective. You guys are aiming to win Serie A. I don't see how Young really helps that. He's not a marauding full back that will offer that much of an attacking threat. His crossing is hit and miss and he has a tendency to hoof the ball down the line when pressure comes his way. Defensively he can be okay, nothing spectacular.

As you like to sign our players, you can have Lingard as part of that fee for Young. :troll:

Not to come here and be a Debbie Downer but, as I say, I'm just not sure what he gives you when aiming to win Serie A. I guess he can do a job against the lower sides.

That's exactly what we're all thinking. To think we might be able to pull off signing Eriksen and then do something like this and ship Lazaro off :yao:

We are all as surprised as you and don't understand this at all

Hes a back-up to a back-up who is a back-up to a back-up. I dont understand this fuss here. If he starts games its cuz he has earned it. He was option C on the market, and if the reports of his fitness and professionalism being top shit, then this deal was 100pct worth it

Good deal for the player, after playing in same league all his life now he can enjoy Serie A for at least a year or 2.

He is a decent back up, nothing more than that. Now and then he comes up with very good games but more often than not he is frustrating player. Comes up with superb cross in one move and then sends the cross to row z in the next.

I hope the bird shit he ate several years ago is contaminating his bloodstream and ripping his muscle tissure so he fails his medical test.

We probably need to wait Lingard to turn 33-years old before we sign him.

Don't really understand the deal especially we need to pay the transfer fee. Hopefully we do not give huge salary.

He possibly a good back up and not complain much to warm the bench. I trust Conte on this. he might be a super sub along the way in our season particularly to hold a lead in a match.

Nothing quite screams Inter like signing a 34 year old to replace a 23 year old we signed in the summer and played in about four games.

I'm guessing that you are referring to Lazaro here because Biraghi has definitely played more than four games. I always thought that Lazaro was purchased to play on the right rather than the left. During the injury crisis, Lazaro was subbed into our games to play on the left but he struggled.

What I do not understand is why Inter are so willing to let Dimarco leave on loan, keep the possibility of Spinazzola open and acquire the services of Ashley Young. There were also reports earlier in this transfer window (there have been for the last two years) of Darmian coming in the summer. I have no idea what our management are trying to do when it comes to our left side and I find it hard to believe that a 34 year old Englishman is going to arrive mid-season and somehow make a difference on the left side of our formation.

What Conte wants in the WB is stability in defence and a lot of running up front. Young provides this irrespective of how old he is. Most of our other WBs don't.

If Conte wants him, sign him, simple.

Plus, it's a done deal and if we sign Eriksen I am not going to bitch about this.

Conte is very picky with wing backs and there are few players in the world that can satiate his expectations of these positions, with Young probably being one of them. If the words about young having great fitness at this age are true, then I'm OK with a 2-year, low-salary contract. Nonetheless, our everlasting journey of seeking a competent full (wing) back is to be continued!

He was less frustrating from Lukaku in United tbh. It’s simple, some players work good in certain environments and I think he’ll work good with Conte. Biraghi is starting WB for us.

Don't forget Young was part of title winning sides with United, I think he can cope well under Conte.
