Bet 10 bucks on Saudi Arabia. Got odds of 17:1.!!!!!!!!!! I didnt know Saudia was so underrated for this tournament.

If Australia are in the form of 2006 WC, they'll most probably win. But I highly doubt that. People are underrating the Asian teams, the top 4 can beat Australia on their day.
I wish to see more from Saudia. They have always done well in the Asia cup, its the WC, in which they always pus*sy out.

This competition is widely open and so many teams are capable of winning it. Many may name Australia as favourites but it will not be an easy ride for them as teams like Japan & Saudi Arabia have experience and tradition in playing in this competition.

My favourites will be:

1. Japan
2. Saudi Arabia
3. Australia
4. South Korea

Unless the weather is very hot and the aussie players can't cope with it they will be physically too strong for the asian players. But should be an interesting tournament. Atleast it's played in the off season and not like the afcon in the middle of the european season.

Hamoudi, your favourite player Kaebi signed a deal with Leicester...

very good move from him...

http://football.guardian.co.uk/breakingnews/feedstory/0,,-6759202,00.html

Iran World Cup defender Hossein Kaebi has joined English second division side Leicester City on a two-year contract.
Leicester confirmed Kaebi's transfer from Iranian side Persepolis FC on Thursday, the 21-year-old right-back telling his new club's Web site: "I have always wanted to play in Europe and Leicester have given me that opportunity."
Kaebi, who featured in all three of Iran's appearances at last year's World Cup in Germany, has 50 caps and has been included in Iran's squad for the forthcoming Asian Cup.

as you can see im really ignorant,:p i just saw this thread now

first thing, good stuff mehdi;) ,for starting the thread

second:im really rooting for australia,surprising>well yes:lala:

i hardly ever support australia in any sport especially football as before they would play against the inferior football pacific nations like fiji, tonga,NZ,samoa etc

and we would usually beat them like 10-0,8-1,5-0 etc

so now we play against more traditional footballing nations, nations who have a footballing background and nations who have $$$$$ to spend on their NT's

im really surprised to see if we are the real deal, are we really that superior because we have a shitload of players that play english football:rolleyes:

considering the heat for example we mite be in for a shock

hope we go allright, making the semis would be a good result:star:

anyway,the australian sporting chant is
"aussie, aussie, aussie" followed by "oi oi oi"

and its prounounced "ozee ozee ozee" then "oy oy oy":D

First game Thai-Iraq
First half 1-1 Thailand score from penalty spot (very soft)
Iraq then dominate after looking shaky in the first 5 minutes and score a soft goal themselves as it seems Thailand weakness is the crosses in the box..and some physicality.
Iraq look better and Najdat looks good on the ball my man of the match soo far.

Ah, good move and good luck to Kaebi, I was really impressed by his technique and ethics.

I hope Lecister make it to the Premier league or some PL side buys him, but not a big side since he needs to develop.

The Saudi squad looks promising because it contains so many new faces from many smaller teams, something that was lacking before. And glad to see many east coasters in the squad, I honestly hope they win this time so prove that counting on old names and imposed names is a stupid thing.

Hamoudi...I felt you might be excited, but no Ameen, no Nour, no Shalhoub, no Montashari(although those 2 new young defenders look better than him and Tukar anyway)....isn't it quite a risk? But I kind of understand what he is going for...but let's see.

Aussies are so far completely owned by Oman and Oman leads deservedly with 1-0. Obviously, Aussies thought it will be a walk in the park and it will be just enough to turn up..but, This ain't Oceania...

i dont know what to say,we are playing without any kind of organisation in all aspects from the defence to midfield to attack,

something has to give, our current mentor isnt a real coach just some kind of fill in

well, you still have one half to go...but I think it mainly comes down to attitude and such.

And yes, Hiddink is REALLY missed.

Well Oman are winning and it seems that Australia is really getting affected by the heat and humidity according to the commentator.

Oman display is great till now, very confident and composed.I believe they can add another as time passes...
