So is there a chance he could miss our two matches but come back to play spurs?

Id still be very cautious @ Barca...I mean, Suarez, Coutinho, Dembele are no joke. At least we knew how to stop Messi ;)

I personally don't like the news, would have liked to see him play. Would have been great to see this team play against the best player in the world. Also him playing would have probably brought more fans to the games and more exposure to Inter.

From FC Barcelona twitter account:

Amazing news for Inter.

Messi is Barca's most reliable goalscorer and is single-handedly carrying their entire offensive.

They've looked underwhelming even against minnows whether Messi hasn't been available.

Now that Messi won't play, Inter have now a significally bigger chance to win against them in both games.

Wouldn't surprise me if Barca ends up 3rd place in the CL-group.

Suárez has scored 4 UCL-goals in over 20 games & hasn't scored an away goal in 3 seasons now & Dembele is shit.

Coutinho is a good player, but Valverde's system with non-existent movement doesn't get the best out of him.

I think people are underestimating on how badly Barca depends on Messi.

Doesn't matter if Messi won't be available, this is still a high-profile game whatsoever.

And there's no benefits for Inter to play against Messi...

Barca ending third just because no messi for 2 games?? Come on, its not as if the rest of barcas players are shit! But it is amazing for us. Im glad Messi still wont have scored against us

Great as it is to know we won't be coming up against this guy, we really can't take for granted that Barcelona are still a phenomenal group of talented players. They've had some indifferent form in the league but Barca always turn it on in the CL. Our chances have improved tenfold but I still don't fancy our chances in this game.

I never said benefits, it makes the game more epic in my opinion since the team is in a good period and all the players are available and will be playing against a team that has the best player.

So we're still the only top side that Messi has never scored against :) Shame that he'll miss the games though.

I would share that thought in "champions" way but next (couple of) years, not now. We are currently clearly not strong enough to cope with full strength Barca, don't matter at Nou Camp or not. Please don't forget we do even not join CL with full squad (thank to FFP). Messi absent at least makes our chance against them bigger than epsilon...He is out of this world atm.

Qualify the group stage means tons of money. Should be at much higher priority than "enjoying" good games against Barca.

I'm not getting excited or ahead of myself now that Messi will be unavailable against us. Our team would've been preparing themselves playing against Messi. Now that he's out, what are we going to expect from Barca ? Now they've become a lot more unpredictable.

I don't think there has been much preparation about the Barcelona game. That's something the team will concentrate on from Monday. But obviously Barcelona without Messi will be tougher to read.

Draw? We can beat them at home. Without Messi they're like headless chickens. Not that we're amazing, but still.

Damn. I really wanted to see Messi against Inter one more time for 2010 nostalgia. We might never get another chance to face him again. :alone:
