I don't think a league can send more than their allotted amount of teams so I guess Roma, Napoli, Juve.

There is a rule that could override the 3 clubs limit. If I'm not mistaken a possible scenario would be if we were in 3rd place and Roma - placed 4th or lower - win the EL, they'd be playing in the CL the following year.

ok, us being 3rd has nothing to do with the rule

No once the introduction of the europa league winner was implemented, it was said that a country can get an extra spot if the winner is from a country which has 4 spots and comes outside the top 4, there will be a 5th spot. Sevilla was the 5th team for Spain last year I believe, Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Sevilla.

So to answer your question, there will be 4 Italian teams in the champions league next year if that were to happen.

What happens if Roma wins EL (they wont) and we finish 4th?
Roma goes to UCL. If, on the other hand, we finish 3rd and Roma wins EL, we both qualify for UCL.

Oh shit he said 4th? Good catch Ronin, yeah everything I said was about us finishing 3rd and they win EL. My bad. That's why you're a moderator I guess :epicwin:

honestly its retarded.

The rules change quite regularly.

For example, I think Valencia? Or someone? Did it and they were NOT allowed back in the CL in the early 00s. Then Liverpool won in 2005 and magically they WERE allowed back in. I think it was changed again some time AFTER that, and it now apparently is back again?

Valencia never won it so it can't be them.

That was different than the question being asked right now.

If a team wins UCL but is out of the top X, they automatically push out the Xth place team.

However the EL question while still finishing in a UCL spot is interesting, I'm not quite sure, but if Ronin is right, that fucking blows. They should just extend it down to the X+1 team. Shame.

I don't think they change regularly anymore. They changed it after Liverpool won it, as there was lots of confusion. The rules have been consistent since (see for ex. Chelsea and Spurs).

It will be a decade before we know it. When we won in 2010 could you have even answered who won in 2000 off the top of your head if it was a trivia question? I know I couldn't. We need to get back to the top before the world forgets we are even a big club.

It was either Roma or lazio, I remember it because a lot of people said they helped "the team of the capital" because of the jubilee in rome

You're talking about Serie A (Lazio won in 2000, Roma a year later), I think thatdude was talking about CL and the European stage (Real Madrid won it, I think).
