Find me one executive who doesn't make mistakes. Everyone praises Giuntoli for finding gems, especially the Georgian kid, but it's the same guy who spent 144m on Lozano, Manolas, Meret, Lobotka and Petagna.What do you call spending 65M€ on Lazaro and Correa? Or 10M€ on golden handshakes to aging players?
Anyone can run a club with an unlimited budget. While our financial situation is dire you can't say Marotta is getting the most out of it.
I think Marotta is a good director but he has obviously made mistakes in the last 12 months, especially last summer. I also have my doubts if he's the right guy to move forward at the club's current state. And the same applies to Ausilio. When you don't have money you can't limit yourself to just Serie A. You need to search EVERYWHERE for hidden gems. Also signing veterans on high salaries isn't a wise thing to do when you count on selling players to remain sustainable. You need to add value to the squad.
