It is going to be one of this 6 players:

Podolski, Fabregas, Valencia, Messi, C.Ronaldo or Barnetta

Fifa named 3 of them: Cesc, Podolski and Barnetta

while, supporters all over the world voted and Ecuador young player Valencia had most of votes, 331.087

Other 2 wore Ronaldo and Messi

On last WC in Korea and Japan, Landon Donovan won it
In france, it was M.Owen, and 4 years before M.Overmars
1990. my favorite croatian won it, Prosinečki-while playing for yugoslavia.

Pele won it in his days, Kaiser-Franz, Scifo...

Who will be the best young player of this world cup?????

Well i hope it will be Barnetta but i think Valencia had the best Wc of all of them. Ronaldo did nothing but dive and shot wide podolski and cesc did nothing special and i m sure that there would be no question about who is the winner if messi would have got more playing time.

I don't think Messi has done enough to be nominated as the best young player(stupid pekermen..).

True that, but hey he's only 19 and whoever takes Pekerman's place will no doubt play him more (but I hear the Argentines don't want him to step down).

To me, Lukas Podolski had more of an impact on this World Cup then any of the other youngsters mentioned.

Well Messi is the best young player, but he has done nothing on the WC to be chosen for the best young player. So I will say Valencia, he has done much more than anybody else for Ecuador. I also think that Podolski, Cesc and Ronaldo did nothing (it wasn't their WC, although they are all great players). Valencia is the best young player on the WC with no doubt.

Behind Peter Crouch on the English bench. :D

Messi easily would've been if Pekerman played him more but alas he didn't. I'll say Podolski because I didn't pay close attention to the Ecuador games and have no clue who Valencia is.

Definitely Valencia.

Podolski really struggled and never lived up, Messi didn't have enough chances and CR9 will win the special Olymic medal for diving.

BTW, how old is Valencia? I thought he was in his 20's, but if he is in his teens, then we should invest in him.

Of coure Valencia (Ecuador) !

C.Ronaldo for me, isn't nothing.. he does many things unnecessary in games.. he could be more objetive.

Messi played few matchs, so no way in say that he was well..

Fabregas was normal.. nothing specially..

Podolski is a jorke

I think Fabregas was pretty good for the limited minutes he got for Spain. I remember in the Saudi Arabia match he was clearly their best midfielder but then unfortunately faded away later in the tournament.

I'm shocked that most think Podolski was crap. I think he actually had a positive tournament compared to the others.

Well, Podolski won it. It was deserved as I mentioned before, IMO.

Young Player Award Winner: Lukas Podolski

Lukas Podolski has won the FIFA young player of the World Cup award after his impressive displays for Germany.
The 20-year-old Polish-born striker has scored three goals in Germany's six matches to date, with the 3rd place final on Saturday an opportunity to increase his tally.

Podolski said: "I would have liked to have taken home the World Cup - but this is a great honour and is a great motivation to become more successful."

Podolski won the award in the face of competition from Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Valencia and Tranquilo Barnetta to win the coveted prize.

Podolski scored in the final group game against Ecuador and then netted both German goals as they beat Sweden 2-0 in the second round.

Holger Osieck, head of the FIFA technical study group, said: "He not only scored three goals, he was a key element in Germany's attack.

"He showed a great understanding with Miroslav Klose and the two players formed a very effective partnership."

The voting was characterised by a concerted e-mail campaign inspired by England fans to prevent Portugal winger Ronaldo from winning the award.

Ronaldo has been criticised for his part in the sending off of Wayne Rooney, but he was leading the Fifa website vote by a huge margin until an e-mail urging fans to vote for Ecuador's Luis Valencia led to a dramatic 24-hour turnaround in the voting.

A 14-man FIFA panel had the final say in the award selection.

Gongratulations to Poldi for winning the Best young player of WC award. He really deserved it.Not only did he score two crucial goals against Sweden, but he also was constant threat with Miro KLose to the oposin defense in every match.

Prinz Poldi will continue to set the world alight in a Bayern shirt believe me.

My thoughts exactly, he's surely been more influential, consistent and productive than the others.
