€20m for Casadei is crazy money and it’s too good to be true. Once again media just making things up. Even €15m is huge money for player with zero senior games.

But I still think we should try to promote few of these young players from primavera and replace players like Gags (squad players) and continue to find players like Bellanova and Asllani. I like deals like Darmian low fee/low wages and very useful.

I think our priority should be cutting wages as it would be fastest way to balance our books. If we compare us to Milan it’s pretty clear we are paying grazy money for our stars. We are paying over €200k/week for player like Lautaro. Currently our main problem is lack of money.

We are paying 11 of our players range of €93-200k/week and Milan have one player (Florenzi) over €100k/week. Leao, Tonali, Hernandez, Maignan… all are under €100k/week. So it’s pretty clear we need to make some changes for our wage structure (we need a salary cap). I can’t see us getting out of this mess without making a bigger change?

We also need to accept we are Everton level currently. We also need to improve our scouting and find Tonali/Asllani before they go to Brecia or Empoli. But for that we need a new mentality as a club and a coach who is good to develop young players like Pioli.

I am not privy to Inter training sessions nor am I a professional scout, so its hard to judge Casadei's true potential. Performance in primavera games is hardly a true barometer of a young player's quality. So I can only go by stats, hype and logic.

Casadei is exactly the kind of profile Inter should be building their team with in our current predicament. He ticks every box. Young, talented, Italian, low wage & club trained. Scoring so many goals as a midfielder in the primavera indicates rare potential with an unknown ceiling as of now. I remember he was among Guardian's list of most talented kids in the world a couple of years ago, which means little apart from the fact that this kid has hype too. My prediction is that in the next 12 months, Casadei will get his debut for the Azzurri. That would mean is value will immediately jump to 20m+ considering his age & hype.

So I wouldn't sell him. If we badly need some plusvalenza from him, I would rather sell him cheaper to a smaller Italian team which will play him & include a buy back clause. Of course, in Inter's current state, every player is in the market for a certain price. If Chelsea offer 20m+ right now, I could understand Inter selling him. But I seriously doubt Chelsea will offer that much. My guess is that at best Chelsea will offer 12m-15m. I wouldn't do that deal. This could easily be a Zaniolo level disaster. If you guys remember, I had made the exact same argument at that time.

See how easy it is the resolve a transfer issue, the Nice offer sounds a heck of a lot more appealing that the ham fisted approach from Chelsea. There is alas, the Stevie factor, so I'm not counting my blessings just yet.

I read a report last night that Inzaghi is keen on having Valentin Carboni in the first team this season as a permanent fixture.

Let's assume that is true, I am wondering why he would not give preference to Casadei given that he is two years older and more mature.

Carboni can play as a support striker, amc and cm. He will be the 5th forward.
Cassedei isn't as versatile.
Personally I would have kicked gags out for cassadei...

In France they claim Nice offer is 4m loan with option to buy for 15m and buyback clause set at around 35m.

If he becomes a top player then €35 mil is cheap. If he doesn't we make €4/15 mil. I prefer this offer then losing him completely.

we need pure cash at this rate (thanks to our broke owner), anyway under 15 mil full cash at this point is a joke. he is the brightest talent under 20 from Italy right now.

please go to Nice. He will play there and get much better... At Chelsea there's a big chance he'll play for their reserves and get loaned for the next 5 years.
I saw a rumor that Chelsea will offer 50 mln for him and Dumfries, which is low for me, but knowing Zang, it will be enough.

Issue is we don't have money to buy 35m€ top players.

I'd prefer lower option to buy and much lower buyback. There's like literally no fucking sense to set the buyback that high because we indeed cannot use that buyback.

And tbh, we could use lower valued midfielder too. If Casadei becomes like 20m€ valued midfielder in near term, it would be worth for us to buy him back (for that 20m€).

Then considering the loan + option structure, if the option to buy was higher, it would be more acceptable. Because now Nice would get one year to check is he worth the option for only 4m€ price. If he ends up being worth the option, we lose Casadei for 19m€. Okay money but if indeed the player is good, it's bad business for us long-term.

That's why selling him for 20m€ straight up to Chelsea now would make sense but this Nice deal would not is because don't know yet is Casadei worth that 19-20m€ very soon.

If the offer was 60M nicker, Stevie would have signed already!
