Dynamo Moscow, Dinamo Bucaresti, Sporting CP, Twente, Celtic, Sivasspor, Shakhtar Donetsk, Anderlecht, Panathinaikos & Sparta Prague will be drawn against each other and then the winners will be drawn against Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Fiorentina, Lyon & Stuttgart for 5 places in the Group Stage.

Actually it can go other way. For example Fiorentina has so few coefficiency points that it can go to "unseeded pot" in the 4th qualifying round (non-Champions category). So they can be drawn against Arsenal, Lyon etc. It depends on who win in the 3rd qualifying round (in non-Champions category).

Here's the precise chart for qualifications.

That makes more sense. Just forgot about the coefficients :) However, it's unlikely that ant of teams from the 3rd Qualifying Round will have coefficients higher than 5 teams already in the Play-off Round.

Ok, here is Inter's last 5 years in Europe...all of which in CL:

Quarterfinals
Quarterfinals
First Knockout Round
First Knockout Round
First Knockout Round

Is anyone else pissed that Sevilla gets POT A just because they were successfull for 2 years in UEFA CUP?

This is a weird system, it should be based on your results in CL, not both competitions, unless you have won UEFA cup 5 years in a row lol.

I don't know, I may be the only one on this one, but I think it is ridiculous that Sevilla gets to be Pot A, hopefully that is the team we get drawn against...

Besides those 2 years, look how dismal they were in Europe...

Round of 16 (UEFA Cup)
Champion (UEFA Cup)
Champion (UEFA Cup)
First Knockout Round
Group Stage (UEFA Cup)

We would have been better off, losing in the group stage for the last 3 years...at least then we would have won at least 1 UEFA cup, maybe 2 or 3, and would be in Pot A for next year lol

If it were just CL, normal CL teams would get automatically good points every season. Now Inter gets punished because it's so poor in the CL and rightfully so. Some change of air is only right so that clubs can understand to develop themselves. Sevilla has collected huge points in UEFA Cup, and Werder has done that also but it's only a good thing. That way UEFA Cup is a useful competition in some way and those clubs being best there gets some benefit of being best there.

Guys its just the list of the teams who will participate in the Champions League. It's not pots yet. The pots will be decided once all teams have qualified.

Yeah but we can see that Arsenal is the only club in the pot 1 who will participate in qualifications, all the other clubs will be there for sure (group stage part in the end of the page I pasted).

As they say "we will have to play strong team sooner or later" :) But considering that during the past 2 seasons Inter didn't go through the Round of 16 I'm not surprised.

and even if Arsenal fails, Lyon is still ahead of us. Unless Lyon failed to qualify too but what is the chance of that? :yuck:

Ya but it is not that useful, look how bad Sevilla has been in Europe the last 2 years...

Big deal, last year they didn't even make it out of the Group Stage of UEFA Cup. I am not saying we deserve to be Pot 1, because we don't but neither does Sevilla, they have done nothing in CL and their success in the UEFA Cup should be a minor boost, not enough to propel them in Pot 1. Especially with their performances the last 2 years...

Is it for sure they will be in Pot 1? Maybe we still have to wait till UEFA confirms it.

It is not for sure, but they are ranked higher than us, which I do not think is right...as I said before, we would have been better off losing in the Group Stage, then we would have went down to UEFA Cup and would have had a good shot at winning it...

Yeah. The rules are same for everybody. Inter could have done that but it didn't. Wonder why?

The situation with the points will balance when Sevilla fucks up enough in CL. Just like Inter have done.
