Not only are we the only club after him but also our coach would rather have someone else (Vidal) :trollol:

Jokes apart, its possibly gotta do with mid-season and a big salary commitment. Very few clubs can offer 10m net wages, which is 14m gross in Italy, but 20m gross in most other countries. Its a lot of money - a commitment of 100m+ in 4.5 years.

I dont think its so much the money side - after all if you were to sign a player like eriksen, say, on 8m net wages which is in line with Tottenham were offering anyway, and an 80m fee over 4 years, that's already 144mil so a substantial saving.

I am kind of surprised there isn't more demand for him, tbh. Maybe some of the clubs who could go for him are worried he might not live up to it, big fish small pond syndrome? I guess there's also some FFP issues going - PSG, Barca, Juve have financial difficulties in some shape currently... Man Utd could be a choice but its not a clear step up even if a bigger club.... Real just dont seem that keen on him...

If we let Eriksen stay there until June and he plays without motivation and passion for the next 6 months, it would take sometimes for Conte to rework him into our system. Not sure if summer friendlies are enough. Also, it seems we are putting all eggs in one basket. If one of Sensi, Barella or Brozo injures or carded, No Eriksen now mean G5 or Vecino has to step in. This season we have a chance for trophy. Pretty sure we will get him now. All this waiting is perhaps because of our easy fixtures in Jan also.

i dont think we have that much of a chance for a trophy this season, but that's more reason to get eriksen in now tbh. We need to hit next season RUNNING, and we cant assume he'll join like Sneijder.
