Teams start negotiating with free agents RIGHT NOW. They don't wait til summer.

So if Real isn't negotiating with his agent right now (or PSG or whoever else), then he's certainly not a priority for them.

this is probably the biggest bosman in the history of the sport.

I assure you anyone interested is frantically on the phone RIGHT NOW.

Real seemed to change their strategy. Perez prefers to invest in younger players. The only exception was Eden Hazard. Now they are closing deal with Reinier.
Zidane dreams about Pogba, so he is apparently looking for more physical player than Eriksen.

But ofc, it's just guessing. You have also to remember that thanks to new tax law in Italy it's easier for Inter to bring top players from abroad. Lukaku is first example. Giving him 10 mln net contract is possible for us, but I don't know if e.g. Bayern, Real or Barcelona are ready to offer such money for a player who won't be their top star.

I'm suprised there are no rumors about Juventus approaching him.

Vinicius earns 10 mln euro net? I just checked and it's £40,000 weekly, so not much.

wat? I think it makes a lot of sense for Eriksen to move this window. If he was going to sign for RM, would they blink an eye at waiting 6 months to get their man when they could have him for, say, 20 mil now? Absolutely not.

I said this in the context of Inter previously but the same applies to Real Madrid - identical title race situation and everything right now - in that, if getting Eriksen now can help them win a title THIS YEAR, then spending the 20M Euro for him now as opposed to waiting to sign him on a Bosman is completely worth it. Further, Real did something like this with Brahim Diaz last January in signing him six months before they could've gotten him on a free, and that was someone who wasn't going to help them in any title pushes at all. So there's precedent and it's also a way of maintaining friendly relations with other clubs; it helps future Tottenham/Real discussions if Real paid a manageable (for them) fee on Eriksen now than waiting until summer where Spurs get nothing for him.

So if Real wants him, I expect that transfer to happen before the month is over.

(To be clear, I realize this is what you said, in fewer words, as well.)

This is way too far. Sometimes I feel like FiF is talking about messi/mbappe/neymar/hazard type player, and I have to slap myself back to reality. It's just eriksen.

No it's not. Eriksen is good but not that good.

In terms of discount to valuation, it probably is. Even relative discount to valuation (e.g. adjusting Ballack's value for inflation) Eriksen is probably the biggest bosman in history.

Pirlo, Cafu, the ones you appropriately called out previously were all in their twilight years, despite the fact that they might have been good Bosmans nonetheless.

In that post, I'm purely talking about the fiscal element. Whoever wins this one gets a 120mil player on their books for free. Ballack is probably the closest to that in the history of Bosmans.

Biggest Bosman. Brehme posted a list the last page - of those Bosmans, from a valuation perspective, who was higher valued? None of them.

And Real just signed Reinier from Flamengo for 35M for the summer. If they want eriksen, they are on the phone now working out details.

Eriksen is not even on any of those player's level. Period. Not/never has been (or will be) on ballack's or pirlo's level.

It's just fucking eriksen. Are you guys crazy?

My point is frmo a fiscal perspective. Signing Pirlo put maybe a 20mil asset on Juve's book - because of his age. Ballack is harder to estimate, but before adjusting for fee-inflation he's maybe a 30mil midfielder?

Eriksen is something like a 90-120mil euro player.

Thing is Real isn't frantically wanting Eriksen ie. trying to get him now in January. As aren't PSG or Juventus. In the rumors there's been only mention of Inter pursuing Eriksen's signature for January move.

He's only a 90-120M player if there's that interest from the big clubs (non-EPL). And if there's that interest, then he'll be negotiating and signing with one of them shortly.

Because intra-EPL interest, you have players like sigurdsson (50M) and fucking Harry maguire (85M)...so i don't really understand what book value has any value for us.

Book value I'm considering because that's potential plusvalenza for whichever club were to sign the guy.

If Inter were to be sold (or RM or anyone, for that) - signing Eriksen would put the price of that club up substantially. From an assets perspective, which is the point I'm trying to make, this is the biggest Bosman in history.

it's only potential plusvalenza if you sell him. He is 28 years old, 29 after he finishes a hypothetical season with us.

NOBODY WILL PAY ANYTHING CLOSE TO THAT for him at that age, unless he totally lights it up and becomes zidane for us. And if he does that, then you DO NOT SELL a player like that for plusvalenza.

When you are buying a player like this (28+), you should not be thinking about plusvalenza at all. You are buying them to perform and light it up for your team for the life of their contract.

im not talking about necessarily real plusvalenza either - the financial analyst side of .h. which has focused so much on FFP and whatever else the last few years is excited for the opportunity for Inter to put a big +100mil under our assets.

actually, as a counter argument to this - if inter were publicly listed like Juve, our shareprice would soar quite a bit (somewhere like 5-15%) if we were to sign Eriksen. Obviously we're not listed, but thats why it DOES matter

but even for FFP, it really only counts if he's sold.

i know, its not an FFP impact right now, my point is the financial analyst side.

I edited my post after posting it, it WOULD matter frmo a shareholding perspective.
