Yep, exactly. That'd be my best guess, Cafe.

I would assume part of the contract provides some level of income insurance for him as well - seems reasonable considering career ending injuries arent THAT rare in football, so best for him to get covered tht way too.

We'll see. It just seems too risky, but as you say, no medical knowledge. Italy has quite strict heart screening things anyway, so if it happened without prior warning, you;'d want to be fuckign confident it couldnt happen again.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Christian Eriksen told his Inter teammates that he ‘had been lucky’, adding he will return to action in ‘four or five months.’

The Dane met his Inter teammates at Appiano Gentile yesterday. It was the first time since his incident during Denmark’s EURO 2020 opener on June 12.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Eriksen fought back tears when he saw his teammates and told them he “had been lucky.”

He also added that he will return to action “in four or five months.”

Doctors saved his life on the pitch before taking him to the hospital. The 29-year-old underwent surgery to implant a heart defibrillator a few days later, but he won’t be allowed to play in Serie A again unless the device is removed.

“He will now follow the recovery programme put forward by Danish doctors in Copenhagen, who will also co-ordinate the clinical follow-up,” Inter said in an official statement yesterday.

“The Inter medical staff will naturally be kept informed and up to date throughout the process.”

The 29-year-old will now return to Denmark for a short holiday.

I remember January 2014. I was like man Colombia going to win the WC we have everything. Then Falcao got his leg broken because Claudio Ranieri was an idoit who put him on in the French cup vs a fking 5th division team. A plumber broke his leg. Was like the most tragic thing I thought at the time. Dude spent 5 months doing every thing possible to play at the WC…. Didn’t make it

how the fk is Eriksen going to play in 5 months or even this year. I hope the best for him and all but that seems foolish and dangerous.

5 months? Highly doubt it, it would be miracle if we come back even this season.

His agent denied everything and he said there's no deadline for Christian.

“Christian, that’s not how insurance works, shhhhh…”
hahaha. If we do have insurance covering his amortisation, then there could well be pressure from Inter on him not to come back. As I said before, this is going to be a long and complicated story - I think it'll be months before we even know if he might return to football in Italy, tbh (not least if he gets flagged unhealthy, he'll want to give it another month or two to try again).

Messy situation, the most important thing is for him to stay healthy.

Omar Hawwash - Exclusive: Sources close to Christian Eriksen confirm to me that the player has taken his first steps towards a move back to #Ajax Amsterdam. His medical conditions have been checked by Ajax’ medical staff who have given the go-ahead for the move to advance.

People are saying this guy knows Ajax stuff. It wouldnt surprise me, as in Italy u cant play with that device on the heart while in Holland u can.

Since his wages are probably covered by insurance, we might as well send him there on a free loan.

it'll probably be voided if he plays elsewhere.

Realistically, we terminate his contract as we cant register him, insurance pays us his unamortised value (20mil-ish??), and then he can sign for Ajax

sure, not sure off hand what the number was.

27 * (3/4.5) = 27*2/3 ~= 18mil though, no?

makes no real difference either way :D
