2-2 after extra time, then ail-ain prevailed thanks to the penalty shoot-outs thus reaching the final

Al Ain almost scored after a great individual effort that was saved on the line, then Modric 1-0. Rather open game. Real also hit the post in the first minutes of the game.

Now Al Ain scored but it's ruled offside.

You can say that for literally any international competition though. I'm not a fan of this competition btw, I'd get rid of it too. Just for different reasons.
