Was Valencia supposed to be a starter for Colombia?

He was suppose to be on the roster. We have played him at RB, CB and DM. He was defiantly going to be on the team. I can't say he was a starter tho.

Our 2 CMs are up in the air as well as our CBs

Colombia plays a 4-2-2-2

-------------------Ospina------------------------
Zuniga------ ?????? -------- Yepes-------Armero
--------------Valencia/Sanchez----Abel/Guarin/Aldo
Cuadrado---------------------------------James
---------Teo------------------Falcao----------

Zuniga has been hurt so we have been using Santi Arias of PSV and he has been doing very well. We don't have another LB to replace Armero so we might use Zuniga at LB or Balanta of River at LB even tho he is a CB.

Really depends on Falcao being healthy as I hear that we might play a 4-2-3-1

new rumors are Falcao will be ready by the Ivory Coast game. I don't want to rush him but we def need him by the knock out rounds. Italy or Uruguay aren't going to be a cake walk. Then FING Brazil. I saw someone post something here saying we will lose the WC final to Spain. I will be pissed if we beat Italy, Brazil then Germany but lose to FUCKING SPAIN !!!

4-2-2-2 is our formation but because Greece Bunkers we might change that

GK - Ospina - Nice, France but is a free agent rumored of going to Arsenal
CB - Yepes - Altanta, Italy - maybe retiring. Old as fudge but might play another year in Italy or Colombia
CB -???? Either Zapata of AC Milan or Carlos Valdez of San Lorenzo. Balanta of River is a wild card
RB- Zuniga but he isn't match fit from injury so Arias of Psv
LB - Armero but not in good form or Match fit so could be Zuniga
DM - Sanchez - elche. Spain
CM - Aguilar - Toulouse, France ( Guarin can't play 1st game because of a red card against Paraguay and I don't think he will play much. Coach does not like him. ) if coach is super ballsy will put Quintero of Porto
Rm- Cuadrado
Lm - James Rodriguez - Monaco
CF - Bacca - Sevilla
Cf - Teo - river plate (great striker but a hot head and premodonna) kind of old at 29 but a awesome striker. If he wasn't such a shit head he would be in a great team in Europe

Jackson hasn't scored in forever for Colombia but think when he pops his cherry the goals will fly. Too much pressure on him. Ibarbo is our super sub and has been a beast every time he has played.

Rumors are Falcao can play by the Ivory Coast game. Doubt he will play till maybe the end of the Japan game unless we really need him. Our group isn't a cake walk but we should be fine without him until the knockout rounds where we need a game charger player up top

Almost like winning the best Portuguese player playing in Portugal, right?

How the fuck is it? There must be about 4 Colombians playing in Germany compared to hundreds of Portuguese in Portugal.

And it was best player in the league. Not best Portuguese player in the League. Not comparable at all. Completely shit point. :smileani:

SO So sad....... Falcao misses the WC. We technically have strikers that can replace him but no one that will bring the fear to defenses that Falcao would. Sucks. Man crush on him is over he is too old by the time 2018 WC. He will be a super sub by then if even on the team. O well maybe he can help us win the Copa America next year

Yes 100% Bacca-Teo are the starters. Super subs are Ibarbo and Jackson.

Potentially rumors are a 4-3-3

Ibarbo is such a boss that we are trying to find ways to put him in but if we stay with the same roster. The team is set in stone just our CB that joins Yepes. Is the only ???

I mean we have to beat Greece. A tie isn't good enough. The team is hurt that Falcao isn't there. If we lose to Greece we will crash out. I don't want to play Japan with both of us needed to win.

I remember Greece playing with a 5-4-1 in the 2010 WC, I dunno if they keep that formation, but maybe a 4-3-3 against them wouldn't be a crazy choice. Bacca, Teo and Jackson :notbad:

No if we play a 4-3-3

its

------------Ospina---------------
Arias-----Yepes---Zapata/Valdez/Balanta----Armero/Balanta
----Cuadrado-----------Sanchez-----------James
--Bacca------------Teo---------------Ibarbo

Way way way way way way too offensive. James and Cuadrado are both wingers. Cuadrado is good at defending and Arias attacks way too much. A counter attack against any of the 3 teams we play would kill us. Only way 4-3-3 works is if the LB never actually goes up and we attack as a 3-2-3-2. Yepes is SLOW AS SHIT and Sanchez isn't a speed demon either !!!!

I like the idea of a 4-3-3 but only if Guarin was back to his Porto form. We just don't have 3 guys in the MF to pull this off. I don't like the idea of making James defend.

Other formation being talked about is a 4-2-3-1 tho this is just for Jackson who I don't think the coach likes much. After seeing how well Bacca - Teo link up. I don't see anyone benching them. A 4-2-3-1 lets us use Ibarbo and its what we played against Holland and Belgium

------------Ospina--------------- (very very under rated)
Arias-----Yepes---Zapata/Valdez/Balanta----Armero/Balanta (Our D doesn't get scored on often but its our weak link)
----------Sanchez-----Abel------ (weak)
Cuadardo--------James---------Ibarbo (SICK !!!!)
----------------Teo/Bacca/Jackson--------------- (Only striker that could work here is Jackson I think)

Colombians are dropping like flies.

Aldo is out of the WC and was replaced by Carbonero of River Plate. All 3 of the Colombians form River Plate (Argentinan champions) will be on our WC roster.

We have the two oldest players at the WC in Yepes at 38 and Mondragon at 42.

Shit you not Mondragon just got injured.... might miss out on the WC. Hope he didn't break a hip. I hear old people die when that happens :(

ALl kidding aside our idiot coach gave Mondragon like 3-4 friendlies in the last year. He was utter shit against Senagal. Our 3rd goalie now potentially 2nd hasn't had more than 20 minutes with the NT and for a 4th goalie we haven't called a different goalie up then these 3 in like 2-3 years I believe. Calero who was our previous goalie died of a stroke and the other goalie we use to use Julio retired once he lost his place in his club team to Vargas our 3rd keeper.
