Hate to open this thread with such a bad news: doctors confirmed ACL injury on Falcao and will probably miss World Cup.

http://www.goal.com/en/news/3790/wo...injured-falcao-to-miss-world-cup?ICID=HP_BN_1

Jesus, big part of the country is devastated.

Good news is that doctors said Falcao is in good mood (considering the bad news) and told the doctor: "I'll play the World Cup, no matter what it takes" there's a light at the end of the tunnel, which seems difficult to reach for him, but the attitude is there.

Terrible, really. You always want the best on display at the World Cup.

No Ibra no Falcao no party.

If he has that attitude then maybe he can scrape it. Would be brilliant to seem him make it.

Bruma (Portugal)
Kruse (Australia)

Rossi 3 months

Apparently Falcao is considering an emergency option: a polyester ACL. It'll give a 3 month recovery, but he must go to surgery again after World Cup.

Even though successful couldn't another horrid tackle with that in place destroy his career?

Plus I really don't think Monaco would want that..

Bit of Simpsons humour tbh: :(

Hey Jackson, how's your knee?
- Fine, coach!
Good, take this note to the FIFA, we're not playing the World Cup.

Fredy Montero to sub him if that´s true?

So sorry for Falcao, it´ll be a huge loss.

I doub't he'll sub him in the starting lineup, but yeah, he has great options of being called up.

It definitely sucks for the fans, him, and the team. Even without him though they're still a great team and I wouldn't rule them out for going far in the World Cup.

Such a shame, this could have been his World Cup. It's in South America and he is in his prime. Could have easily had a Forlan like impact.

I hope he doesn't rush back or do some silly prospectic ACL thing. Even if he made it there's no way he would be in top form and nothing is worth risking your whole career.

I suppose one consolation is that Colombia are top-heavy with their talent and have some good replacements.

Such a big loss for Colombia... it's like Argentina lost Messi, or Portugal lost CR7...

It definitely sucks for the fans, him, and the team.

And for the whole WC also, one of the best strikers in the competition.

It seems impossible to come back but who knows, he might pull a Zanetti and recovers in time.

Ok it has really taken me 1-2 days to accept this is true and it happened. I am not going to jump off a bridge or anything but haven't taken 1-2 days off the internet since I heard Ben Affleck was the new Batman or Brenda Song was going to Marry Miley Cyrus ugly tattooed brother. It just sucks because at his age and this being his 3rd major knee injury. Think he is done. He has been one of my favorite players for a real long time 2nd only to James Rodriguez. Who would have been game over if we had lost James.

Saddest 4 moments in my life
1.) my grandma dying before my HS graduation
2.) Batman and Robin with George Clooney ruining my childhood when I was 9
3.) 1st break up .... kind of disliked all Koreans for a little while haha
4.) Falcao getting hurt AGAINST A FING 4th DIVISION TEAM !!! Why would you play a 60 million euro player against a indoor soccer team!!!!!

What's worst is my 2nd team is Italy because of my mom and Gio Rossi is also F'd. As long as a South American team wins I'll be happy. Would prefer Argentina because Messi deserves it but Chile or Uruguay would be cool too. F Brazil they don't speak spanish so they can go suck some German D!!!

Honestly man not to sound like a dick but he should do it if it will make him heal faster. I mean we don't even need him for the group stage. Beating Uruguay or Italy in the 2nd round can be done without him either. It's getting past Spain or Brazil in the 3rd round. Then Germany and Argentina at the end of the day. If he does this and we win. I think he and all Colombia will be very happy even if he can't play again or is never the same. This is our best shot ever to win the Cup. Zuniga, Armero Falcao and maybe Zapata will be too old to be in the next one. Muriel isn't the Fat Ronaldo player people were hyping him to be and even if he becomes that don't think he will have the numbers or the impact Falcao has had both for the Colombian NT, getting Colombians to get euro contracts, and the image of the country as a whole.

In South America, weather the same and our team is sick. Only weakness is we need another CB(2 really young CBs who are getting ton of love from the media have yet to be given a shot) and a real DM who knows how to pass the Fing ball !!!
