Apparently Sporting was just his agent trying to make something happen, Sporting said that wasn’t true after the news hit the press.

It’s just a loan for one year, apparently he’s still under contract with his team in China which was surprising for me, I’m sure I’ve read somewhere some months ago that they released him from his contract, I though he was going to retire by now.

Top goal scorer of our league 3 times, he’s not the same but I’m glad he’s back anyway, hope he plays against us so we can give some love back to one of our former captains.

Alfredo Morelos had his debut yesterday and was laughably bad. Don’t want to crucify the kid who is just 22 but he literally had a open goal and passes the ball directly to the goalie. Then he had another open goal and he falls down.... thankfully that time he had someone behind him.

It’s 1st game gitters or whatever but kind of silly to be bring a Scottish league player when we have tons of strikers available in much better leagues. That kid got called up so his agents can get him in the EPL.

Being a rangers fan I kept an eye on the game, he’s well known at rangers for missing unbelievable chances, I can think of 3 as bad as that since he joined. One thing is though he has is excellent movement and strength, he needs more composure because he scores the hard ones but I doubt he’ll get another chance after last night unfortunately.

He will. We didn’t really bring many strikers. But With borja who went to the WC (will replace Falcao), Borre(river plate), Chucho Hernandez(19 plays for Huesca in Spain he is our Luis Suarez) and Duvan Zapata of Atlanta I just don’t see him having a spot for a few years. But as bad as he is. I’d take anyone over Bacca. Bacca is fking garbage he need to go to China and never return.

Again crazy to crucify a 22 year old but he shouldn’t have been called in the 1st place. A
Friendly against a crap team(no matter how godlike they become against us) is as easy as it will get

Davison Sanchez 1st game at 20 was against Argentina in Argentina on a WCQ.

Decided last minute to go watch Colombia v Argentina in NYC. It’s an hour from my job.

Icardi v Falcao :)

Argentina’s team is more mixed then ours. Neither team has a legit coach yet

Colombia’s starting 11 is missing
RB - Arias broke a rib against Venezuela in Miami on Friday
CB - Mina has something wrong with his leg still hasn’t debuted at Everton
LB - Fabra - broke his knee before the WC tho his spot is the most up in the air we just don’t have a Lb. Mojica who started at the WC is also injured.
LM - The chosen one!!! James !!!!!!

So all in all 75% starting line up all out becauae of injury.

Hope for a good game.

Team today is much better then last month as we have James and Cardona back tho the interim coach is being pushed by our federation to basically call up our Juve players(Nacional is basically our Juve) and they suck.

Also shocked he keeps calling up Jesion Murillo who doesn’t play at all and was god awful last game.

Sadly Quintero who is tearing it up at River plate won’t play because of muscle fatigue as wanted to try out 2 #10s again. Not sure if he will be replaced with Cardona or we will use 2 strikers

It’s a interim coach who isn’t getting the job but this team to me is 90% the starters.

LB and CB are the only subs so no excuse to lose to the US mixed team.

LB starter is Fabra who is out till December or Mojica the one from the WC.
CB is Yerry Mina who is also still injured form the WC

Everyone else is a starter. Which to be honest dispoints me. I rather lose and find 1-3 new guys for the team then call the same guys for a meaningless game. Then we play Costa Rica!!

Calling Ospina who won the starting spot at Napoli and can lose it or get injured when we have 3 top U23 goalies(haven’t had a crop of goalies like that in 10-15 years)

We have No backup for Arias at RB.

CBs he only called old ones. We know Sanchez is the starter leave him in England!!

DMF - Barrios is the starter but we have like 5 other DMs that are young and can be given a shot to find a back up

MF - Uribe is beastily with America but at 27 has like 5 caps. We spent 10 years looking for another guy to replace Abel Aguilar. And would play Abel injured or if he had 0 club minutes. Can’t do that shit again find him a back up in friendlies

AMF - James is the Star I get it. He needs to come to sell tickets. But England/Japan showed up no James no party. Benedetti, Cardona, Barrera (el Pibes nephew) need to be given a shot to prove they can be a back up especially if we decide to play with 2 #10s

RM - I don’t like Cuadrado use to love him. Can care less that he is at Juve but he has developed cunty behavior like diving when he can score because at Juve they give him the call. Colombia isn’t that lucky. Villa of Boca needs to be give that chance. Dude is awesome

Cf - I love Falcao. My wife wouldn’t let me name our kid Falcao haha but at 32 he can’t be our main weapon forever plus he is slow. Maybe too slow for how we are trying to play now. Borja is the top scorer in the Copa Lib this year and might become the 1st Colombian to win the Copa Lib with a Colombian team and a foriegn one. It’s his time.

Colombia won the last 2 games 4-2 against the US U23 and 3-1 to Costa Rica. While 7 goals is awesome. Falcao must have eaten like 12 goals. Guy is just 1-2 steps way too slow for how the new coach wants to play and the defense is just shit without Mina leading it.

Cucho Hernandez scores 2 goals in 2 shots :) dream debut from the youngster hope he gets more minutes next games. Just a matter of time before he is our #9.

Carlos Queiróz is about to sign for Colombia according to our press, he did a good job with Iran but was terrible for Portugal, the players didn´t like him and his tactical decisions in some matches for us were at least questionable, the worst part is that he´s that kind of annoying ex that will keep talking trash about you to everyone willing to listen for years after the breakup, he can be super childish and immature, if we as southern europeans can´t stand this kind of none sense, as he´s one of our own, I´m sure the south americans will love it if he decides to pull something like that in Colombia.

Jackson is doing Ok for Portimonense considering all his injuries. Anyone else would retire, the guy is starting for Portimonense but even as the match starts he´s limping, it´s really sad, he also can´t train 3 days in a row because his ankle can´t take the load.
He has 4 goals and 2 assists in 12 matches so far, the class is still there, you can see it in many of his movements but he´s body can´t keep up most of the times.

Here´s a video of him being subbed off in his return to play against Porto

I don’t think he is a good coach. From what I read we just want him as a teacher for Reyes the U20 coach. To give him the job after the next WC

My problems with him are the same as the the previous coach

For 3 million a year ... win us a fucking title!!! We are the 3rd biggest country, 3rd richest league and better players and league. Why can’t we even knock out Uruguay who only have 3 million fking people!!

He is ultra defensive a 4-1-4-1 with our roster of players is cowardly. The last coach cost us 4 potential titles. 2 WCs and 2 Copa America’s. Playing 3 DMs against England was fking pathetic. He put in a CM last 5 minutes of te game and we almost scored 2. He cost us that game and the title. Copa americas were even more pathetic

He is old. 65!!!! At 68 in the WC!

What has he won? At least the previous coach won a crap ton with Argentina’s U20. But he has 30 years as a coach and what has he won to warrant 3 million a year.

Bad choice

Copa America 2020 will be held in both Argentina and Columbia. Here is a map which shows countries whose capitals are closer to London than Bogota and Buenos Aires.

Colombia wants to be the only host and FIFA wants Argentina to do certain things to co-host. There is an agreement on the 1st round but not the knockout stages. So where the knockout will be is up in the air. Colombia last hosted in 2001. Argentina Hosted in 2011.

Most likely will be colombia only tho kind of sucks as most countries have 2-3 years to prepare. Colombia recently hosted a U20 WC in 2011 which made them update stadiums.

So same amount of teams as all the past copa americas dorms tmake. Any sense to break it up to 2 countries unless this is a test for Colombia/Argentina to co-host a WC as South America wants 2030.

Colombia plays in Barranquilla not Bogota. Also Bogota to Buenos Aires farther then New York City to San Diego?

Barranquilla is 700 km north of Bogota so it's another 700 km farther from Buenos Aires.

I live in Connecticut in the US. Just googled San Diego it’s 2,500 miles away. Orlando Florida - 1,050 miles and Austin, Texas - 1,600 miles. NYC/Boston - 100 miles away

So if US can host a WC what’s the big deal with these distances. Don’t get me wrong I prefer Colombia host on its own. WC 2026 US, Mex and Canada. Distance from my house to Mexico City is 2,200 miles. Which isn’t even to the end of Mexico. Imagine the guys frilly from Toronto to California or Mexico.

Another weird thing about this cup is they will break it up into 2 groups instead of 4. So 6 teams will play exclusively in Colombia is the rumor. Brazil said they refuse to play in the altitude so will not play in Bogota. The other 6 will be in Argentina

Colombia’s group will be shit tho. Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador , invited team(China/Iceland or Qatar)
Argentina - Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, invited team(1 from above)

Why host if you are colombia if no top team other then Brazil is showing up and going to be dicks on where they play?

sure, of course they can. they are not the first two countries to co-host a tournament. it just seems a bit weird considering the huge distances (for the record, more than new york to san diego, at least in terms of air distances).

but it's not just south america, seeing as next euro cup will be hosted throughout europe. imho it was better when a single country hosted a tournament, i feel these medium-haul or even long-haul flights kind of spoil the atmosphere.

Thing is, CONMEBOL wants the tournament to be co-hosted no matter what, as this would mean 12 more matches to the tournament and more money.

If Colombia or Argentina quit, they would be replaced for another country from their zone. Say Argentina quits, as it's possible, because CONMEBOL demands the tournament is tax free, and Argentina doesn't want to do it, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay or Bolivia, could take the spot.

Colombia called its team

Overall best 23 Colombians tho big loss in

Quintero #10 of River/ AC Milan is rumored to want him. Injured
Fabra the LB of Boca Juniors got injured before the WC and was rumored to go to Napoli.
Mojica starting lB at the WC and still injured

New coach. We got Irans coach. Hoping for the best. Roster wise I think we have the 2nd or 3rd best roster in the region. At least 1st starters.

Arqueros/GKs - no surprise and def a place we are really lacking

DAVID OSPINA - had a real bad injury playing with Napoli lucky he is back. He really our only goalie worth a damn
ÁLVARO MONTERO - plays in Colombia is 6'5 and was our u20 goalie a few years back. 23
CAMILO VARGAS - plays in Colombia, 29 having a good season... but lets all pray for Ospina. #2

Defensas - a few big injuries we play with 4 in the back but everyone but Arias and Borja are CBs. So maybe we will surprise with a Conte Formation against Argentina. 8 Defenders of which 6 are CBs... think its way too many.

SANTIAGO ARIAS - not the best season at Madrid but our starter
STEFAN MEDINA - RB people in Colombia hate him because he got totally shit on by Chile/Uruguay during 2014 qualifiers. He can play RB, CM, DM and RM. None well but that's why they called him.
DÁVINSON SÁNCHEZ - coming off injury but our only clear starter.
YERRY MINA - Injured but if he is 60% he will start. O yea I love him and the retarded way they spelled his name
CRISTIAN ZAPATA - leader in the back line only experienced player in the back. Sub if Mina is healthy tho
JHON LUCUMÍ - 20 plays for Gent in Belgium one for the future. CB
CRISTIAN BORJA - not a good LB but his move to Sporting in Portugal got him his plane ticket
WILLIAM TESILLO - Coming as a LB but is a CB. Plays in Mexico....... prob worst player called out of the 23

Volantes/ MFs - Would be who I picked as well. 7 MFs. 3 DMs, 1 Cm and 3 AMC
JAMES RODRÍGUEZ - Dios.... nuff said.
MATEUS URIBE - Plays for America de Mexico rumored to be going to Boca. our CM
WILMAR BARRIOS - DM plays for Zenit. Starter. Use to play for Boca.
GUSTAVO CUELLAR - DM Plays in Flamengo rumored to be going to West Ham.
JÉFFERSON LERMA - DM plays in Bourmouth in England. Sub for us tho think he is better than Barrios.
EDWIN CARDONA - AMC/LM. He is likes his empanadas but has a rocket shot. He is a better Guarin but a bit of a basket case missed out on the WC because he made the asian eye gesture during a friendly against Korea or Japan so FIFA banned him :)
JUAN GUILLERMO CUADRADO - Starter

Delanteros/strikers - here is where things get tricky does the new coach show balls and start Zapata or does he start his captain. I am not against both Falcao and Zapata playing together. But Falcao must play for Zapata and not the other way around. So the coach bringing 5 strikers. 3 are CF. 1 is a LW/LM and Muriel is kind of a support striker I guess tho maybe Falcao can play there. Not enough especially as we struggle to score at every level

LUIS FERNANDO MURIEL - dislike him and tired of waiting for him to be good. Was billed the Colombian fat Ronaldo and hasn't done shit. Has 2 goals in like 6 years with the NT
FALCAO GARCÍA - love him but his time is almost up. Give us this Copa America and next one at home but he won't be around for Qatar
DUVÁN ZAPATA - its his time and a good cup can seal his move to a bigger club. Hopefully not Roma like is being rumored
LUIS DÍAZ - LM or AMC that plays for Junior in Colombia very promising player.
ROGER MARTÍNEZ - CF was owned by Inter at one point. He kind of is the 2nd worst player called. A few promising strikers to pick and guess his name was the one pulled from the hat.

Colombia plays a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-2-2-2 tho with players called wouldn't be shocked if he tries 3 in the back

-----------------Ospina------------------------
Arias--------Mina------------Sanchez----Borja*
--------------Uribe-------Barrios---------------
Cuadrado----------James-------------Cardona/Diaz/Muriel*
----------------Falcao/Zapata-------------------

if a 4-2-2-2
Cuadrado------------------------------James
---------Duvan---------Falcao------------

LB/LM are def our weakest side.

Based on teams we play
