US has a chance to advance.

their group is a joke as well as Mexico

I just hope Peru doesnt somehow magically beat us in knockouts again with the same players they been doing it for 20 years...

it will be a SA winner. in desending order of likely hood.

US I'd put under Peru/Chile. Roster just not there and home field advantage is big but there is a reason you guys stop inviting Colombia and SA teams to Gold cup. We kept getting to the final with reserve teams. Fine over the years Concacaf got better but not by enough. Also your height against SA teams is not as dominating as it is vs Concacaf. We have black people too. See the Central America players when playing the US/canada its like you are playing a girls team.

Peru/Chile.... they are just way too fking old and need to find younger guys. Chile answer is bring back the guys who won this 4-5 cups ago. Just too old of roster/not enough depth in Players.

Ecaudor is pretty solid young team just does bad at this tournament usually. Also really green

Colombia the GK situation and #9 is alarming. Coach has a hard on for Borre(was linked to us like 2-3 seasons ago) who never scores. We do have a 20 year old at Villa who looks like the Colombian balotelli haha. Really comes down to how is James going to play and if he doing bad will Colombia play with 2 CFs instead of being stupid and focusing on #10 when we only had 2 good ones in 50 years. Also come off crazy strong in group then lose in pks in knockouts.

Argentina wins hope it's not with 15 free Pks to the final. they are not as strong as people make them out to be. I know everyone thinks I am hater but the gap between them and the other 5 to me is not that big other than Messi performing a keoken super saiyan 17 for 10 seconds or a BS pk call

Brazil to me comes down to Vini and if he can lead the team to gold. Tho I think they are probably the weakest Brazil in the last 20+ years.

I think strongest team in the region is Uruguay tho and they are historically great in this cup. They just need to find a better goalie before the WC.

I will be going to both the games in Hartford, CT

Colombia vs Bolivia and Ecuador vs Honduras. Father in law got me and the kids tickets to both games really only wanted to see Colombia but hey free is free and Ecuador has a very exciting roster.

might go see Argentina v Chile
Uruguay v Bolivia as they are 2 hours away.

Tho probably just keep our money and go see the Semi in NY hope its Colombia v Uruguay.

Just realized J.Alvarez scored 13 league goals less than Lautaro this season in same amount of minutes. Didn't scored for Argentina in 18 months. Wondering who will be starting striker.

Alvarez played the same amount of minutes as Lautaro? How is that even possible. I feel every time I’m watching City he’s never playing. Interesting.

He still had 2.7 shoots per game. For example,Thuram is at 2.2.

Laurato had 3.3.

who better than Alvarez is available and do we have a chance at?

I don't think Thuram played at #9 either he was way more of a support striker. So the argument of who is better is pointless.

We play a team that rotates strikers, wingbacks every game those are our 4/5 subs. We also switch out starting strikers frequently since we play so many games

who is available, that we can potentially afford that would agree to come here. Rodrygo from Madrid isnt coming wages/price/ambition and I dont really rate him that highly. Thinking in South America no real striker comes to mind. I like Duran of Colombia but he 20 and will be like 30m+ could flop/villa are rich and dont need to sell.

in Europe? that Ramos new Ronaldo seems to have flopped unless we can get him on loan :) I just dont see many options that aren't insane price wise.

City wants £80 million for Alvarez. Forget about him. We should get these players when we can afford them, not wait with our dicks in our hands till their price explode.

Whatever ManCity wants, it's another thing, but I highly doubt any team would offer even close to that price. It's not like he set the world on fire, or is coming form an extraordinary season. He was a backup all the time, despite that Haaland's season was arguably worse than what it was in the previous year.

I had the same reaction. I'm just gonna pull his match log from this season and see where this takes me...

31/36 starts, only two games he didn't feature at all were MD30 and 38. Further worth noting that all five times he came on as a substitute were late February and onward, and the last four games of the season were three subs and an unused sub.

vs. Liverpool and Arsenal: 3/4 starts, played full 90 twice and 68 minutes of another, the missing game was one of the two games he didn't play at all this season.

It surely would be worth looking into his UCL stats as well, which tell a bit of a different story:

Only 2/7 starts (unused/injured for three other games), both in the group stage, both against (from a City POV) irrelevant opponents (Crvena Zvezda and Copenhagen). Only played 42.7% of available minutes in the UCL (282 / 660) and only played 34 of the 210 minutes against Real Madrid.

So it's likely a combination of him not having played much in the CL along with kinda losing his spot in the team late in the season that feeds into that notion.

It's the PL, everyone shoots :D
Unless they're at extremely dysfunctional teams, which there's an abundance of

I mean Darwin Nunez kind of sucks and scored a hat trick on that Mexican team...

No Brazilian has been this hyped since Neymar. Hope he isnt a flopping little bitch like Neymar was
