Don't besmirch the name of the best supersub we ever had. (I'm assuming there was some sarcasm there)

Chivu was sought after buy all the top teams, injuries messed up his fitness in his career but he was one of the first defenders i can remember that was able to play as a CB, LB and DM and can take set pieces and was good in the air, aside from being able to pass from the back and start plays. He wasn't WC with us and at times he was abysmal in some games but i appreciate his contribution nevertheless, given his head injury as well.

SIDE NOTE ON CRESPO / CRUZ

LOL

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/2274092/vieri-sell-me-instead-of-crespo

CHRISTIAN VIERI has admitted he is furious at the possibility of Internazionale selling fellow striker Hernan Crespo to Chelsea. The Italian international, who has himself been linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge, feels the Nerazzurri cannot afford to let go of the 28-year-old if they have ambitions of winning trophies.
"I would prefer them to sell me instead of Crespo," Vieri told Il Giorno. "It would be difficult to understand why I should stay at Inter; to finish second, third, fourth place? I think that letting Hernan go would weaken the team, not strengthen it."
The former Juventus player is concerned that the situation is beginning to mirror the previous summer when Inter sold Ronaldo to Real Madrid.
"They have already sold Ronaldo, then they bought Crespo to replace him and now they want to sell him too, you have to buy good players not sell them.
"If Inter decide to do this I suggest they are better off selling me because it means the club do not have the same ideas as I have," the 30-year-old added.
Vieri also confirmed he suggested possible purchases to the club's management team but his ideas were ignored.
"I told them, let's buy Veron, he is a player who could solve our troubles. Instead Chelsea bought him."
He concluded: "It's better I don't meet the club's officers any more, they don't listen to my suggestions and I'll just get angry and hang them on the wall."

The coaching career of Inter treble hero Cristian Chivu has started in the best possible way when the former Romanian international defender led the U-14 Nerazzurri team to winning the Memorial Graziano Peretti trophy.

The tournament began on August 29th and yesterday the final was contended between Inter and Torino where the Nerazzurri scored the only goal of the game. Chivu’s boys defeated Venezia, Atalanta and FC Barcelona en route to the final, their only defeat coming in the last group stage match against Cittadella that had no baring on the results.

After having secured the first coaching title of his career, Chivu posted the photo below on his official Instagram account with the caption: “My new life. My team. Our first trophy.”

I miss him. Along with Sinisa, the most technically gifted CB I probably would ever see in my life.

Former Nerazzurri defender and current Inter youth team coach Cristian Chivu spoke with Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, discussing the treble winning season in 2010 starting with the semi-final clash against Barcelona.

“It was a historic match. At the Camp Nou I was not even going to play, then Pandev got injured and at the last minute Mourinho lined me up on the left, which was a position I had not played in since I was a child in Romania in 1994. Anyone in my place would have also said yes, just for a chance to play.”

Was Mourinho the real difference?

“Yes, but we have to be aware of the fact that the difference is made on the pitch. You can be the best coach in the world, but if the players don’t get your message and ideas, then you’re not going anywhere.”

What should today’s Inter take from the one from 2010?
“It takes some luck of course, but you must believe in what you are doing. You must understand that to win, you need to give everything you’ve got.”

What are the chances that Inter advance past the group stages?
“It’s a balanced group, Inter has great qualities and if I have to find a defect in the team it would be the lack of experience at these levels but Spalletti can make up for it. I played a Champions League game with him, he has decisive qualities.”

Totti says that in the Serie A no-one can stop Juventus from winning, what do you think?
“They are the favorites and everyone knows it, but all the other teams must try as they have an obligation to compete. I’m talking about Roma, Napoli, Milan, and Inter of course. Spalletti has Icardi who continues to improve year after year, he has scored 100 goals, the numbers speak for themselves.”

What did you think of Lautaro Martinez?
“I am sure that Spalletti will eventually find a way for him and Icardi to play at the same time, I think he is a very good player.” - #Chivu4LGI

Was Chivu part of Spalletti’s Roma that lost 7-1 to MU?

Yea, that's why he's actually not in LGI.

When short term memory fades completely, then everyone deserves to be in LGI, even Mariga.

Update: Chivu has been promoted to coaching the U17 team.

The Coach, who will take charge of the U17s this year, spoke to Inter TV: "We have to get to know each other well in this period"

VIPITENO - From the training camp in Vipiteno, Cristian Chivu spoke about the new experience with the U17s and his first few days of work: "I couldn’t wait to get going again after the summer break. For me, coaching the U17s presents a new challenge: the primary objective is to be able to convey the ideas I have to the boys quickly. It's a period where we have to get to know each other well, the team has to understand as soon as possible what we are looking to achieve over the course of the season.

"This is a very significant age in the boys' development, everyone has to now take the next step forward in becoming a footballer over the next few years. This is such an important year for their future. Our job is to help them cultivate their dreams," continued the Coach.

What does the coach ask of his team? "Attention to detail almost always makes the difference. We'll have to work on it, but I'm convinced that in a short period of time the lads will be able to express themselves to the full. It's normal to have a bit of trouble at the beginning, but soon they'll all get into shape.”
