I enjoyed his time with us, his love for the club was unmistakable and I didn't think he was that bad during his short starting stint last season when Handa was injured. Inter's gratitude to the Nerazzurri keeper, who is moving on after four seasons at the club​

When he introduced himself to Inter in July 2017, he pulled out an old Panini sticker of Gianluca Pagliuca – one of his boyhood Nerazzurri idols – with his own face as a child stuck over the top. For he had always been an Interista.

Daniele Padelli became an Inter player on 3 July 2017 and went on to make his bow on 12 December that same year – saving two spot-kicks as the Nerazzurri beat Pordenone in a Coppa Italia shootout.

It was a dream debut for the boy who had nurtured the idea of turning out for Inter ever since he was a kid. A dream he had achieved – and earned – after experiences at several lower-tier clubs in Italy, a loan spell at Liverpool, two seasons at Udinese and 116 games in four years for Torino from 2013.

Daniele made nine appearances for Inter across his four seasons at the club. Six of them came in the 2019/20 campaign, when he replaced Samir Handanovic between the sticks, helping the team triumph in the derby.

His swan song came In the last match of our Scudetto-winning season at the Stadio Meazza against his former – and future – employers Udinese. The final act of an incredible, victorious campaign, which culminated with the Nerazzurri lifting Scudetto number 19.
